I actually work in the Department of Commerce. On weekends you can park right on 14th street. Or on Constitution (meters) which are usually taken by tourists but since it's January there are less of them. You can pay to park in the Reagan building across the street.

I have finally managed to raise some of the spawn of my two white parrot fish. I currently have about 8 juveniles that are eager for a better tank to call home. Does anyone want some--I'll accept trades for saltwater stuff if you're interested. Or does anyone know a LFS that would accept them for trades? Let me know. Thanks as always.

Have: 72 gallon reef tank I purchased a pistol shrimp about 2 months ago. Never saw it, thought it was dead. I purchased another pistol and a goby, both good size (both from Rudy--great guy and great shrimp and goby), and they bonded immediately to the far left of tank. This morning out of the blue i see the pistol i bought 2 months ago in the middle of the tank. Questions: is it ok to have 2 pistols in the same tank? Can I get another goby to bond with the newly discovered pistol or would this goby battle with my other? If not, can a pistol make it without a goby? Thanks all.

for a reef tank, what's the best option for the 10-15 % water change...pull water off top? suction anything from substrate at all? Thanks.

This is my first time attempting to put in flooring, but it's just a laminate puzzle-like floor, glueless and nail-less. I'm hoping I can lay some planks quickly in the general area.

Hello all. i'm a new member and have found the advice on this board to be great. Couple of questions: (1) I am installing a new floor in the coming weeks and will need to move my tank a bit to put the new flooring underneath it. It is a 72 bowfront fully stocked with corals/fish. I also have a 55 fresh tank which will likewise need to be moved. Currently there is carpet--I am putting in laminate floor. Any ideas how to best do this? I imagine I will need to empty at minimum some water in order to slide it over a bit... (2) My JBJ lighting system (again): I have a 4x65 watt strip. I replaced one of the ballasts last week and now notice that the fans are not functioning. How much of a problem is this? WIll it lead to quicker frying of ballasts? Can I remedy this by putting a mini fan there or do I need to get this repaired? Thanks.
