  1. I see my blue snowflake clove polyps have made it to alot of tanks here in wamas
  2. It must be conected to a GFCI somewhere in your house. Located all the GFCI's in your house and make sure its not tripped. If you turned the breaker on and it didnt fix the problem it has to be a gfci tripped somewhere. It could be a gfci on another floor thats hooked up to it. It happened to me once to an outside plug on the made level of my house and i looked everywhere and it was a tripped gfci in the basement

  4. Found this: For those who are interested, the following artificial seawater recipe is taken from "Chemical Oceanography" by Frank Millero. It makes a recipe that matches 35 ppt seawater in terms of major ions, but does not try to match all minor and trace elements, most of which will be present as impurities in the major elements. 23.98 g sodium chloride 5.029 g magnesium chloride 4.01 g sodium sulfate 1.14 g calcium chloride 0.699 g potassium chloride 0.172 g sodium bicarbonate 0.100 g potassium bromide 0.0254 g boric acid 0.0143 g strontium chloride 0.0029 g sodium fluoride Water to 1 kg total weight.
  5. I would be interested in learning more. First thing that came to my mind was being able to mix your own salt and adjusting ingredients to the levels you like to keep your tank.
  6. I am headed out of town for a week and i need someone to keep a eye on my tank while i am gone. Ideally i need someone to come every other day to feed the fish and check out the tank to make sure everything is running ok. Anyone in the Haymarket area that might be able to help. Dates are 1/8-1/15

  9. I do have a sump pump and didnt realize that the floor drain wasnt attached to the regular drain that the house is hooked up to
  10. I have a valve off my main pump that i will use for pumping water in the drain. Grill is metal
  11. Can you pump saltwater waste in to floor drain without issues? House was built in 2003 not sure if its metal or not. Anyone see this being a issue? The drain is close to my sump so it would make life easier

  14. Cycling my new tank, my rock was dead (left out to dry) water has been in the tank for two weeks, one week with salt. I put some live rock in the sump tonight and the sand was once live that was rinsed well. Do you think there is enough dead stuff in the rock to start a cycle? Need a test kit. No lights installed yet

  16. I am also going to use 1/2 material maybe 1 inch wide in the inside corners and glue them for added support.
