  1. Thanks Gary - I stopped by yesterday and got a tube.
  2. I'm not going to trust this stuff.....it's a black and white label but is isn't the Aquastick putty. Friday it is. The stuff will be available for pickup Friday (I'll post when I receive it) or Saturday. Steve
  3. I got this stuff from Lowe's and it's the grey two tone putty (squish it together to get it to harden). I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to be putting anything bad into the tank. Thanks.
  4. I just bought some of that "steel" epoxy putty to mount my corals. The stuff that came with the tank when I bought it has been used up and I couldn't find the same kind. Is there a "bad" putty? What should I look for on the package to make sure it's not going to hurt my tank? Thanks, Steve
  5. I'll take the perc's if you part out.
  6. They say that with Joe's Juice you just have to inject close to the mouth to kill them. I just ordered some so I'll let you know if it works. Steve
  7. Can you just change the resin in a DI filter or do you have to put in a new filter as well?? Steve
  8. I think I'm going to try the Joe's Juice first. I'm ordering from marine depot this week. See post in members discussion. Steve
  9. Welcome! Let us know if we can help you out in any way. Steve
  10. Well, you need a couple of things. First you need a pump to get the water up to your sump/fuge. I think you would want at least 600gph going through it, depending on the size of your tank. You're going to need some bubble baffles to kill the bubbles from the water being pumped in. Then just have the water gravity drain back to your main tank. Steve
  11. Rob, I just put a nice wad of chaeto in the fuge that GaryL gave me that was loaded with stuff. I can give you a scoop of sand from my fuge. Steve
  12. Do you have a canopy or just the coralife fixture? If you go to hellolights.com and look at their retrofit MH kits you can get 3 175w retro kits for $375.00.
  13. Or you could ask Yanek (emissary) about it. He just built a 180g in-wall tank.
  14. I'm looking for live rock donations for the 40g tank I'm setting up for my wife's elementary school. I'm also looking for some livestock (reef friendly) donations as well. All donations are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve
  15. I have a hippo, foxface and yellow tang in my 120g so I think you have plenty of room for another tang. The Palani tangs are very colorful as well so you might want to look at one of those. If the sharks are territorial or aggressive I would consider getting rid of them. Just my opinion.
  16. Welcome to WAMAS! There are a lot of people here that will help you out and donate/sell frags to help get your tank going. As far as fish go I would identify what you want and then ask advice. With a 220g you should have plenty of room.......but as far as the sharks......I'm not the one to ask. Good luck.
  17. What make/model dosing pump are you going to get? I don't know anything about these things so I want to make sure I do it right the first time. Thanks, Steve
  18. Bob- What pump is recommended for this thing? Would a maxijet1200 work? Steve
  19. I have a 120g with a DSB (about 5") and would rather use my sump as just a sump rather than a fuge. Will a fuge (with macro) benifit me already having a DSB?
  20. Just out of curiosity (and not to hijack the thread) What is the benifit of mud over sand?
  21. Well said FF. Now Ales, how is it that you can comprehend the complexities of a reef tank and have a hard time with e-bay?
  22. Yours is a favia brain right? I have an open brain. Are they both supposed to be kept on the sand?
  23. I have a green open brain that I used epoxy to secure to a rock that's resting on the sand. Lately I've seen some pics of brains actually resting on the sand. Where is the best place to put them?
  24. Does anyone have 2 of these they want to get rid of? I don't mind paying for the parts, but to pay $20.00 for the tool to put them together is rediculous!
  25. That's a rock with stuff growing on it!
