  1. I thought that thing was longer that 7'!!!! I wish the wife would have trusted me with silicone. I tusted it, but that is not the opinion that matters. Oh well.
  2. I just bought a large tank from them. I was nervous, but heard the joints were getting cleaner and more reliable. I llooked at a tank Aquariareview took. 240 gal, that the owner was giving away due to a leak. The owner said he thought he caused it pulling at the silicone. Lower prices allowed me the low iron glass upgrades on a 275ish size tank (7'x3'x25") I saw Rik Leishman's and thought it was pretty nice. He also got low iron. Silicone was a little thick, but it was a 200+ gall tank. I think it depends on the size. I gave up on a little quality of joints etc..(hopefully not the ability to hold water, just joints) to go up in size, holes and overflows, and clearer glass. If I was going for a smaller tank, I probably would have gone with the oceanic or AGA. Still, even some of those have had problems. search on "algaeman" By the way customer service from Tom is pretty "straightforward", though not difficult. Email is probably best. (Tell him what you want, two steps left, receive order. Don't waste too much time worrying about any missing rolls Costanza).
  3. Merry Christmas to whoever would like some. Chris, you can stop by after Mac's trip and pick some up if you'd like. Good to know there is at one reefer out there in the boonies as well.
  4. I just use a toothbrush to rub then out and try to suck the remains out. Just try not to kill a bunch at a time as they are highly toxic. Ooops. I mean... I gently remove and propagate them. They are earth's creatures and we should do our part for their safety and well being.

  10. So learning from Howard's move, I think I may have a small clue on how I want to do this. I am wondering if anyone has a tank/container out there in the 40-50 gallon range I could use for a few weeks. I am tring to increase water volumes in my sump to avoid too much shock if I need to use too much "new" water. If anyone has smaller plastic water containers I would love to borrow a couple as well. Move date: Oct 30th, 110 gallon from Chantilly to Purcellville. Tanks/containers returned first week of Nov. Anyone willing to help would be great as well. Then comes room construction and the 280 gal.... Thanks,
  11. Please show up with cashola for the parts as well. I close on my house in 2 weeks. I think that will pay JK M&S for one lamp to be carried out of my house. I kinda need to get every penny. That reminds me, I need check the sofa cushions as well. Joking, not that bad off, .....yet. Good thing I financed my tank room to be paid off over 30 years!!!
  12. Sometimes it is the luck of the draw. I bought 4 at the symposium from mac, and had one rtn in the bag on the way home. The others are doing great and I fragged them for this fall meeting. Those all shared the same water at that event. The two frags I got at the meeting are doing awesome, coloring up a little more, and happy polyps. All in their own water. One frag that was part of the "fragfest" monti caps, I broke it in two when I got home, mounted together on the same rock, and one die and the other is fine. So who knows? Obviously, the less stress the better. But I doubt it was the brood.
  13. Chip, You suck!!! You got me until I scrolled down!
  14. Church=Home Depot? I go there every sunday? James, I have extra monti caps, and softies if you want from the fragfest if you want. I will bring and give to Chip on Sun if you want to replace any losses. Doug
  15. Krish, Could you get me: Price: $9.95 Description: Mogul socket for parabolic reflector Item Code: 61-61005 Thanks, Doug
  16. I will be there on Sun morning with the glue and the frags I got you from the fragfest. If you would like the glue on Wed, I will be glad to drop off after work. Cheers
  17. Thanks Howard. That being said, LIST what you are going to get AS SOON AS you decide to buy something. Don't buy and assume nobody else is doing the same.
  18. Thanks guys. This is the acrylic glue, not the epoxy that I have, just to clarify. I twill be here the 12th I found out
  19. PLEASE DONT BUY ANY GLUE!! I have some on its way now. May have by Friday. Doug
  20. Dave, Absolutely no reason to apologize! We need to apologize if you feel in the very least bit responsible for some inconsistancies. I am actually happy with what I got, just wished every piece was as as good as the largest one. Seemed like policy, not chance. I am sorry you got stuck in the middle. Chalk (no pun intended) it up to a learning experience. DOug
  21. powerheads 13.99 fittings 1.99 x 2 = 3.98 total 17.97 or 18, cause if someone gives me 97 cents I think I will have to flog you. As for weld on, did we need any???? If so, throw in another buck or two for the tubes. If not, no biggie. I will work to move the goods another way. Doug
  22. Sorry, impatient me. $4.97 seemed better than $11.99 so I jumped on it. I don't like sitting on my hands waiting. I sure it will get used or get unloaded (calcium reactors).
