  1. I will order the weld on from tap plastics and add that to the list that people owe me for. I could use some anyway. I am getting a bunch of the 4oz tubes (large) and will get a quart of #3. I have needles if we need applicators for the 3 (ex crack addict that I am). It is ups ground, so any additional we need for the raffle hs to come from someone else. Doug Edit: Order made
  2. If I could post a pic, I would, but don't get me started on that........ Most of mine look like the white one in the middle left of Xeon's pic. The good one I got was like the middle right. Curious what Randy(?-HI rocks guy) says about them. Throw in the fact that you would recommend reefer rocks those you see at macna and see what reaction you get.
  3. Going to give the stuff to Krish today that I have. I am also in in on the Kalk order, but cannot make it. Chip, I can send a bucket up with a lid up with Krish to put the kalk in, if you don't mind storing for a few days. I can pick up during the week next week if you want or at the meeting. I guess we owe Xeon for the kalk? I think I need to bring my laptop with quicken just to keep track of all the $$$ transactions at the meeting!
  4. Mutley, Love the avatar, you sick bast@#$! Let us know. I'd almost be interested in calling these guys and asking about the "1 good, the rest solid" policy they seem to use.
  5. Sorry, that was what I was implying, just not clear. Krish, I work in Reston, I could drop them off today or tommorow if you want on my way home.
  6. Folks, The powerheads and the JG fittings have arrived. Unfortunately, I doubt I can make it on Sun for glueing. As for tapping for the JG fittings - the outer diam of the threaded portion is .525" with what looks to be 20tpi . I will leave it up to the ME's like James to verify what the proper drill size and tap to use. It looks like it would be a 29/64th bit with a 1/2" 20 tap. Or would we use a 7/16" with softer materials? Smart people sound in.
  7. If it stinks, keep it away from the preggie lest yee have dinner all over the floor!!!!
  8. OK, I guess. I got one really nice (I mean really "holey") peice about 10x8x8 and 8 other dense 6-8" diam sized. Feel like I paid the price for one good one and they threw in some others to make the weight. I might take the pressure washer to the others and see if I can find some holes. Without the discount, I don't know if I'd do again. With it I guess it is worth it. No small broken stuff though. About 64lbs worth as well. Would have like bigger, but am very appreciative.
  9. Don't know, must check with the boss, but not expecting too much
  10. Just call me "Jam Master Dee", cause I put the needle on the record and am scratchin like pro in those pics! [nana] Peace out yo.
  11. Krish- It's just placement. Where I'm putting mine, I thought it might kink the rigid airline tubing, that's all. I don't have much room above, and have a tight bend. There is no problem with the straight JG.
  12. I ordered pumps and the jg fittings yesterday. I took some liberty to order a few 90 degree fittings as well. So we have 24 of these and 10 of these. I wanted them for mine and so did Chip. So, 3 other reactors will have them. If you want yours with 90's or a mix of the 2 kinds, speak up. If there is nobody else the wants them, I will eat the cost or use them in a different project.
  13. I will add 17 (maybe an extra for Xeon) 606 Minijets to the order. Could someone help me pick the JG fittings that we need. Do we want a 90 degree fittings for the top? Size? Just want to doublecheck my assumptions on what we are to get. for the top of reactor to sump?: http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=RO5211 from the RO resevoir into reactor?????: ??????????? Anything else we need?
  14. Can't wait any longer and am going to put it an order at Marine Depot. I have to return these bulbs to XM before my rma expires. Anyone that wants to piggybck on for free shipping is welcome to join in. I will be placing the order on Wed. Please post or pm me the item, price and code. Items can be picked up from my house in Chantilly, or my work in Reston. Krish, you are already in. Kalk folks/Chris Anything we need for our reactor can be put in here if everyone can agree. 606's are $14.
  15. Chip, If you get around to set up the (thing that you use to set up and cut over and over again, making each cut exactly the same) again, I will take one with the lip cut. I just feel better with the lip. No justification really, just do. Doug
  16. Ok, looked through the thread twice. Did I miss the address? Could someone post or pm me the address for Chip's teepee.
  17. Any idea what is shipping like for this? I'm afraid all the way from Hi it will be an arm and leg. Duh, nevermind. I will go in on a 60lb best for $80
  18. I'd be glad to take a 1/2 bag. iceman, what are we looking at here? One is more soluable vs one with more Ca %? Or are we looking for a little bit larger partical size that will precipitate from the water column better. Other thoughts?
  19. Sorry guys, I do not have a truck I can make a run with. Don't really seem to have the necessary tools either - another excuse to gow to HD. I was going to try and use the scrap 4'x4' sheet I had of 1/4". I'll bring it in case we need, but not to make waves I will go with whatever option the group goes with. Chip, do you remember if they sold the weld-on or bulk epoxies at acme, or should we order separate from usplastics or equiv. Howard (at one time) said he would donate whatever he had remaining, but it's not enough for all. I would suggest we order everything from MD. :D I'd just get the bulk Kak as well, plus I will add my lights which will add another $120 to the order. Rest looks like it can be aquired at HD.
  20. Sunday is fine with me. My open house is that day, I can't be home anyway. My little lighting/shipping ploy aside, lets work on a master parts list so we can order ALL before assembly to save on shipping costs. Let's avoid: powerheads + shipping kalk + shipping Plumbing + shipping etc... Don't really care where from, but let's do one stop shopping.
  21. Chris, If the shipping turns out steep for koi lagoon, just let me know. Gosh diggity darnit (did that get by the censors?) I need to find another $150 worth of stuff at MD. Shouldn't be hard. What about kalk? Doug
  22. I didn't get home until 9:45 or so. Sorry I missed it. Chris, I was looking to purchasing a few MH lights. Would get them from MD, so that would easily put our order over the $250. Let me know if I can get that in, or if you you can't cover I can take the order for ya. Is anyone ordering Kalk, or most going with pickling lime or similar? Chip thanks for picking up the tube. Hve we found a way to cut it straight? One recomendation from a frined was that if we cannot put it on a bandsaw and make it straight, put it on a lathe somewhere? I may have access to that. Why doesn't someone have a nice 5 axis CNC mill in their home? The nerve of you people! DOug
  23. MyReefCreations.com is selling the 50lb bags for $60. Not sure who else would have the 50lb bags if you want that much. The 8lb containers there are $15, but not sure about the shipping, but closer, so ups might be under the $7 MD charges from california. Then again, there is always all the other extras you can get at MD. Anyone know of 50lb bags of arm anywhere? OK just noticed MD has the 50lbs for $105, including the $31 for shipping. Oouch!
  24. Chip, Acme plastics in Alexandria. Apparently across 395 from that Marlo Furniture. By the way, in advance, I feel for your back.
  25. I am going to go ahead and ask to get in on the 2' of 6" tubing, but will be providing my own sheet acrylic for the base and top. Also, anyone want to put int a group order somwhere for the additional parts, powerheads, kalk? I can work on that if there drygood recommendations?
