  3. The orange filters worked out good for me...its hard to get the pictures under blues though..which really pops out the color. Anyway, I suggest you try under lighter blue color with an orange filter. See if that helps.
  4. Really nice looking setup...congrats! What are the dimensions? Sorry if you had already posted it in the earlier msgs. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  5. Came across this article today...very sad news...seems like raising temperatures caused by global warming is the culprit...here is a link to one of the articles...just google for more info. http://www.foxnews.com/science/2016/03/30/great-barrier-reef-hit-by-widespread-coral-bleaching.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+foxnews%2Fscitech+%28Internal+-+SciTech+-+Mixed%29
  6. I was in the same situation with my nano...I got this...almost fits a 5 gallon bucket. http://www.amazon.com/Songmics-Leather-Ottoman-Collapsible-ULSF50B/dp/B00V47N6C2/ref=sr_1_14?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1459198870&sr=1-14&keywords=black+ottoman+with+storage
  7. Easiest way is to dose Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)...it will raise the alkalinity while lowering the pH..since your pH is in the high range...you will be fine.
  8. Just found out that MyReef 2.0 is only for PC! I understand that it can be programmed on the controller itself...but wanted more user friendly interface to work with. Read on some online forums that someone installed it inside a VirtualBox on MAC. Anyone here? If so, can you provide some feedback?
  9. Quick question Marco...I thought live rock or media like this tend to absorb the medication...i remember reading it somewhere. Isn't that right? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  10. I have 2 of those blocks in my tank...they are very porous and brittle...one of them came in broken into two pieces. I would definitely recommend this. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  11. I would take out that entire piece of rock. They may get into crevices and hard to pull out...try squirting hot water into the crevice with a syringe.
  12. Just wanted to share some pictures of my first Nano setup. IM Nuvo 24. Thanks to DCReefer for an awesome deal! Its been up for more than 4 months now. Most of the corals are from my 80 Gallon setup that I sold sometime last year. I have only 2 fish right now...planning to add one more in a month or so. What do you guys think so far? Some of the things that concern me right now... - Not sure if the flow from the returns is enough...I dont have any pump right now. - Missing fish...not sure where it's gone...its been over 3 weeks that I can't find it...have been monitoring ammonia spike since then...so far no major spike found. - My mandarin zoa's are not opening in this tank. I have other zoa's which are doing great like fire and ice, rasta's and others. But not these mandarins! - Dont have an auto top off setup yet...was planning to use BRS doser with kalk mix as top off...any suggestions? - Have an IM media reactor...planning to add it soon...but when do we typically add them? I dont have any spike in phosphates yet.
  13. UV sterilizer may help clear the water. I haven't used it...but read about it online.
  14. +1. Most likely lighting is the cause...I would try moving the coral under low light for first few days to give it some time to acclimate itself with the new lighting. Also, if possible find out about the lighting parameters from the vendor...perhaps that will give you some idea. Here is first link I found after searching for it online. http://www.liveaquaria.com/general/general.cfm?general_pagesid=274
  15. This thread has some good links. You should be able to find answers to your questions. http://www.wamas.org/forums/index.php?/topic/75701-QT-discussion QT discussion
  16. Indeed! 241 pages...wow! Thanks for the link...I will have to spend good amount of time to go through that thread.
  17. Oh really! Thats good. If you have the link handy can you please share? Thanks.
  18. Oh man! You were little late in breaking the rules I was following this thread and few others in ordering bulbs and decided to order these like 2 days back...4 blue+, 2 coral+, 1 purple+ & 1 aqua blue special.
  19. +1 on AWI. The one I have is Typhoon III...that my second one and no complaints so far. Sometime they have discounted coupons on their page in vendor forums. Recently I added one more membrane to my unit and the person at AWI was very helpful on phone ordering and installing the unit for me.
  20. Never heard about these lights...they seem like very good lights with high part values.
  21. Yes, makes sense. Was planning to mount them on the ceiling...not sure though...hope I can find the studs. If not, may be conduit or some other way. Hmm...I never thought about having only one...always thought of balancing it...but again you make a good point...if 2 are overkill, I may just go with one. Will checkout XHO vs TECH...not sure whats the difference it...I thought of going with TECH. Will have to do more reading on them. Thanks.
  22. Thats very helpful. Thanks. I am actually planning to add 2...front and back...do those fixtures have similar screws in the rear as well? Also...does the ATI hanging kit support additional load of 2 reefbrites? Found this link on reef central...this is exactly what I was looking for...5ft long fixture. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2498219
  23. Thanks. I found this on Reefcentral. I see what you are saying now...anyone has similar setup for a 5ft long fixture? http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2166978
  24. I finally decided to go with T5 light fixture for my new setup...but want to add 2 Reef Brite LED strips to the same fixture...I heard somewhere that this modification can be done or its actually supported by ATI fixture...is that right? If so, can someone provide info on this mod?
