If your tank is having a temperature problem still be careful pumping the cold water change water in! Why does power outage call for water change?

Go to wal mart or harbor freight. Buy a large car battery and 300-800 watt inverter. Plug in 200 watt heater and power head.

Unusual snacks

I just jack the heat up in the car and sweat lol. Use a cooler to maintain water temp when car isn't on. Gets wishy washy with them hand heaters. If all else fails buy a car battery and inverter and use thermostat heater in container. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Same tubing. How Long did it take your skimmer to recover from your frag glue? I think I have used paper towels before without problems must be something else.

Ok I'm pretty sure it was the paper towels. They contain glue products to help hold together the fibers and make the paper towel stronger.

Did you use clear tubing? Yes I ran it from first floor to basement floor. I have a reef octopus NWB250. It has an airline that runs a foot above my water line. I'll check to make sure no leaks. I remember using paper towls now to clean skimmer. I'm going to check online now to see if they put something in them to make them more absorbant .

Anyone run a new long section of flexible tubing? My skimmer hasn't been producing ever since I ran the clear flexible piping to the basement. It's been about 2 weeks. Maybe there is some sort of chemical in it that is messing with the surface tension of the bubbles? My corals also didn't really like the change. Slightly deflated but back to normal. Things I changed/did: cleaned skimmer, new return pump, new black return tubing, new clear drain tubing, new sump tank.

My flower pot goniopora coral was looking bad. Took it out away from the maroon last week and it looks sooo much better. Sometimes they can literally "love it to death" lol At least it will give it some rest and space until you can figure out whats up.

Dont rush it like everyone has been saying but definitly keep your motivation to fix. I bought my 125 with broken brace. Moved it from baltimore with no problems. Filled back up and still not repaired 6 months later. I need to start looking into getting it fixed.

Alk dropping quickly to 5 in two weeks is pretty normal for me with no dosing in between. But I dose now with Kalk and as needed baking soda. I think the SPS could survive at 5 but thats living life on the edge and you probably wont see rapid growth in the SPS. I would do smaller but more often water changes. I think over dosing alk can cause calcium to precipitate but thats a question Tom can answer.

I bet you are raising the alk too rapidly. I have noticed my softies like the alk but not when I raise it rapidly. A 50% water change should swing that alk level quick shocking them.

I say don't do it for piece of mind. There is nothin worse than worrying about your tank shattering into a million pieces while kids are chasing the dog around it, or whatever your situation may be when the tank gets shook a little. Maybe drill the back panel with smaller hole and just run straight pipes (make sure back panel isn't tempered). Just LeaVe room for the plumbing to screw in without hitting the top brace rim. Don't drill tempered tried that last week. It's designed to shatter like car window(aka safety glass)
