  1. GFO worked for me as well as upgrading skimmer and downsizing livestock to feed less
  2. This looks like it thanks a ton.
  3. Surf n turf Where can I buy that frag? True Tricia we can only hope that some day we can set our beer and coffee on the surface of the water because of the overgrown SPS
  4. I have to get my hands on this blue SPS. I'm guessing it's a stag? I found the picture on the Internet. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. My fish suggestion is fewer fish fewer problems but I know how that went with my tank ha. How did you like the gyre I have never had one. Sweet setup
  6. It's green birdnest or pocci it will do fine where it's at
  7. Sweet devil horns Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I'm a night owl. It would be more fun to run the lights late into the night. My livestock always know when the sun comes up because they have several windows. Will I stress everything out if I set the lights to turn off at 1am?
  9. I'm starting to see more and more now that I don't have a six line wrasse. Gosh that Blenny sure is a nosey photo bomber. Cool footage!
  10. Viagra is still getting into your tank somehow with how often your fish spawn. I think Viagra isn't digested in the human body and the waste water treatment plant isn't able to remove it. On a serious note I don't think it's worth the risk and the cost of RODI water is minimal. City water is proven to have medications in it, phosphates and nitrates and it's just not worth the risk
  11. you can't drill their 55 just a heads up with tempered glass
  12. I think a lot of dead fish get wedged in the rockwork where you can't see them and the clean up crew eats them up before you notice them missing
  13. I hope you can convince me but I had a couple issues when I considered them. I think it's a matter of pay me now or pay me later. I didn't want 1200 watts of electricity bill for fish tank lighting for ten years straight. Also in the summer we don't use a lot of air conditioning so there is no way we could run MH here without buying a chiller because of the extra heat the MH would put off.
  14. This is my tank ideally I would like to run 3 reef brights for more angles but I only run one for now. I can't be live how the shading went away after taking the sps colony's out of my 40b with one d120 and putting it in here with more led light angles Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I have never ran metal halides but I would like some input on something I have noticed about the way people run LEDs. People typically buy one fixture and hang it directly over the tank and that's it. In my opinion two or three thin fixtures should be hung: one at the very front and one at the very back of the tank to get light from all angles. MH have big reflectors and LEDs don't. I think a lot of our shading comes with the way the LED units are compact. The reef brights ERC is doing a group buy on are thin and long allowing for multiple units to be installed for better angles.
  16. Wow those could eat my fish.
  17. Cool stuff thanks for sharing.
  18. I do 15 gal weekly on a 125 Every Water change Wednesday. I feel that less water more often keep parameters stable. But I also agree that a newer system May need more volume
  19. I love mr saltwater tank! And ERC yay!
  20. Looks like a frag fell on it and it got stung
  21. 3 boxes IO pickup at ERC headquarters
  22. That's good to know! Well he just left. Took two pictures of the tank the lights weren't on yet so I doubt he was taking pictures because he was impressed with the fish. I asked about the tank he said he doesn't know if they will charge extra for it and he stated he is independent and all he does is report findings back to the company. I'll post up if they raise rates. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks Chuck! I noticed that also. Mandatory Lenders title insurance and optional owners title insurance. I declined the owners title insurance seemed like overkill to me. But it looks like most people buy it because I had to remind them several times to take it out of the documentation.
  24. My internal house insurance inspection will happen in the morning since I bought a new house. I got the tank moved just in time for the insurance inspection :( I don't remember them ever doing an internal inspection. It just crossed my mind that they are looking for things Like my reef TANK. And that seems like a great reason to hike up yearly premiums. They got me right where they want me. Any inspectors on wamas or anyone had to deal with this before? It should be interesting
  25. Late at night watch it. Mine can extend 4 inch tentacles but mine is big. The chalice... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
