  1. A lot of us run the Bulkreefsupply.com 2-part additives with great success. I'd be sure to check out their website. They have great videos and a really good reef calculator to help with dosing. I run a five T5 bulb combo which I overdrive with IceCap ballasts. You can't go wrong with ATI bulbs. I have also ran UVL, GE, and Giesemann. My tank is a mixed tank with plenty of softies and LPS and they do really well under those bulbs. Bulb combos are always the hardest decisions to make. It just takes time to figure out what you like best (bluer tanks, daylight tank, actinic tank, etc).
  2. Man, you have some great stuff. My wife and I just LOVE the gold torch. It really matches the tank perfectly. It's always great when vendors are so easy to deal with and personable. Keep an eye out for a nice scoly for me
  3. Man, I loaded up on his stuff cause it's always a good size and quality pieces. Plus he's pretty cool, to boot.
  4. Gotta ask, were you the guy I saw pumping the raffle tickets in there? Whoever it was, must have put 30 or 40 tickets in the pot!
  5. Absolutely, completely impressed. I know I learned a lot and this really helped me make up my mind when it comes to a quarantine tank. Kudos to the club for arranging for her to speak.
  6. Bringing any Jack-O-Lantern or other leptoseris by chance?
  7. Awesome. I am picking up a two-headed gold torch from him this weekend. He has been great to deal with on here, I can't wait to see more of what he has!
  8. Wet/Dry shop vac after siphoning out what you can. As others have said, be careful not to scratch it.
  9. I'd go with some T5 lights. Twenty inches isn't too deep, the T5's will treat you well at a decent price-point. Skimmer: Get as much as you can afford, or as big as you can fit in your sump. Reef Controller: This will automate everything. I use a Neptune Apex Lite and love it. It controls my lights, auto top off, dosing pumps, heater, powerheads, etc, all while letting me control everything wirelessly with my iphone. It also sends me a text message and email if there are any problems. It's important to keep your tank as stable as possible and the controller really lets you do that. RO/DI unit: Get a bulkreefsupply unit. Another critical piece of reefing.
  10. So do you have any more frags of this monti then? Is it encrusting or plating?
  11. I use a mag 3 but split mine apart, plumbed them using Y fittings with individual ball valves, back to another Y and then into the sump. Much better control that way, and only cost ~$20 extra.
  12. Those look great! I have one acan but would really like to add some more to my LPS collection soon (after saving some more $$$). What do you feed yours?
  13. What's nicer, the gold or the yellow torches? I have never seen either one!
  14. I made one of these and am really happy with it. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/video/view/diy-tank-nori-feeder/
  15. What is the third one down on the right? It almost looks like a red Jack O Lantern Leptoseris. Do you have a link to that one? Price?
  16. Am I missing something? A few months ago, I drove about an hour and a half to their "nursery" (I am from Southern Maryland) only to find a dirty, run down green house with no fish. They had some fish supplies, but it was older stock. I didn't see a dang fish and the staff was as grumpy as can be. Is there an "aquatics" section that I missed somehow?
  17. I love my Nox Angel. It doesn't mess with any of my softies, zoas, LPS, etc. He doesn't even fight the tang for nori, he is just like a simple shadow who doesn't mess with anything.
