  1. Thanks! its been up for about 3 months. I grew the corals in another tank for the last year before I moved them into this tank. I'm running an old Kessil A80, I don't think I will have much growth under that light, but I am actually hoping that is the case so pruning is not a huge concern. I just love the way Kessil lighting looks, something about their spectrum really makes things pop.
  2. Lynn, Thanks for the quick response. Im dosing saturated kalk I mix 6 grams per gallon (Brightwell Kalk +2) I find the extra Magnesium in this product helps keep my Calc from precipitating. I am not using a reactor at this time but possibly as my tanks uptake builds I would think about it. Thanks again! Reef Dweller
  3. Hi All, Looking for a new pump that I can use for the long haul will not burn out for some time ,and if it does has a easy replacement part or customer service to work with getting it fixed. Anyone have a pump they love and would recommend? This pump will be used to dose over 3,000 ML a day so its longevity and adjustability is key. This is the main pump that pushes in my kalkwasser daily and effectively is my ATO so needs to get adjusted weekly for evaporation changes. Cheers! Reef Dweller
  4. Did you ever pick one of these up? I'm thinking about doing the same especially with the new emphasis on PH.
  5. Thanks for the links I had no idea about this Ill have to look into it. Stock up on the potential ban list .
  6. I really appreciate everyone's responses. I like the Idea of GHL I was leaning that way sturdy build, stand alone that can be put into a full controller suite when I get to it, however when I looked at a setup tutorial I was immediately turned off as it seemed over complex. How did you find the set up experience for the GHL that is really my only concern ? Thanks again everyone!
  7. I had the misfortune of buying a fragged one with realizing it. It died soon after purchase.
  8. HI All, looking to get an automated water testing system. These are the current options I am looking at, but if you have advise or experience with any of them your input would be appreciated. 1. Alkatronic 2. Apex + Trident 3. GHL +Ion + KH Director Thanks, Reef Dweller

  10. Hey everyone, I'm headed to Aquashella in June. I'd Like to get a group of the locals together. If anyone else is going, and would like to meet up for a beer and some tank talk before or during the the trip I'd be down. Respond back here or PM me and I'll get something together. 11. Update on this I used two weeks ago on new set of zoas following the math outlined in the BRS Bayer guide. The cup that comes with the Bioadvanced is in fluid OZ's. I don't get that many frags at a time so I used 1 liter of salt water about 1.5 Fluid ozs of Bioadvanced. 15 minutes in the bioadvanced dip 2 rinses straight into coral RX for 5 minutes another rinse and into my QT tank for two weeks. Those specimen are now in my main tank no adverse effects to the tank that I can visibly tell. Again this is only zoas no experience with other corals as of yet. Can continue to update if people are interested. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  12. Update: I ordered the MJ-L165 - the light itself is great. The par output and spread far exceeding the AI prime. However I returned it because of what I see as failure of its wireless app capabilities. Router mode install: Initially tried to set this up using their router mode. It failed to find the device after hours of trying to get it to connect. The issue here might have been it requires a 2.4GHz router signal vs a 5GHz router signal. Unfortunately my router is unable to put out a signal at 2.4 GHz. AP mode install: After being unsuccessful with router mode I went to AP mode which is a direct connection from my phone to the light itself. I was able to connect and set up the light cycles and timing. This was a pain however because I had to get off my home network and onto the MJ-L165 network. Additonally you had to turn on AP mode manually each time to connect. The lights internal pairing time was extremely short requiring the user to pair within the few blinks of the lights indicator of entering AP mode. Once I had this all set up and my schedule going the next day the light turned on and worked well. However the day after it did not turn on at the scheduled time. I reset everything and set it up again, the next day the light did not turn on again at the scheduled time. Overall it seems like the light itself is a great product but the App control leaves much to be desired. Thanks, ReefDweller
