Hey folks, in the next month or so I would like to purchase a metal stand with the dimesions of 48"x24"x30". The only problem is that I do not know who to contact to purchase or commision something like that. Are there any local metal workshops in the DC/MD/VA area that can make an aquarium stand with those dimensions? do they have the capability to powder coat the stand? has anyone purchased a stand like this for their setup? and if so how much was your cost?

My budget was approximately 300$, but I'm finding any decent DSLR with a good lense worth it's salt is going to be upwards to 500-600. :(

I'd like to ask some of our more experienced reefing photographers what they would recommend for a good starter DSLR body and lense. I'd like to be able to take close up shots of my aquarium under actinics. On a side note, would it be possible to do this with the iPhone 4 Camera?

I know there are various brands of black sand substrate for our saltwater aquariums, but I have been told that some of these brands lose their color over time and become a bland brownish color. Are there any black sand/substrate that last the test of time?
