  3. I was hoping we'd connect, and maybe we still will. Can't make it this week though. I'll PM you about next week potentially
  4. Ha! I stopped by yesterday evening not knowing you were closed...wish it was easier to get back again soon...may have to try harder
  5. I'm an eheim fan, but perhaps I need to be educated on other options too
  6. Nice, hope the SPS pull through for you
  7. can you mange to poke the overflow through a space between two studs or is that not possible?
  8. LOL...you and me both...ain't nobody perfect
  9. I like his plan. I haven't installed the tech reefbrite on my 6x54 ATI yet, but I loved my colors best on my last tank when I had 1 tech reefbrite of equal length with 2 T5 bulbs (B+, and C+). +1, T5 or halide...best results are with the best water chemistry. You can do well with both, or have issues with both...depending on what else you do well/poorly.
  10. Is where that light is sitting where the overflow will punch through into the sump room? Looks like you're working with studs that support stairs. Maybe I'm wrong about placement, but if not be careful. I know you know carpentry, but I'd shy away from removing or altering a stair support.
  11. Trying to remember the name, but there was a vendor at MACNA that had branching display structures for mounting corals. Looked like bonsai vs live rock, but big...really big stuff. That guy had something like what you're looking for too.
  12. Check out d2mini's fish room video on youtube...the most recent one Also here, about 2m in you see where his overflow is through the wall...and at about 3m in he talks about it http://www.aquaticlog.com/aquariums/d2mini/1/videos/1018
  13. I re-read your plan. Sounds like sump an all will be behind the wall. You might as well remove a section of drywall from both sides for access...big enough you can work in and to provide proper air flow around open plumbing...no need for just a little circle I don't think. I, too, prefer the look of the tank up against the wall.
  14. If you're putting a vortech on the back wall, you may as well leave yourself room to reach back there and adjust it.
  15. Nice! Looking forward to seeing what you do

  17. yes, that should allow you to look at some additional passive fish that might not have hung with him
  18. So why is that? Why did lithium inhibit growth? Why did they take it out? I've always taken it for granted that high Mg helped...but never bothered to put that to the test scientifically.

  20. Cool! I like the gorg and rbta combo. Fun little tank, gonna have nice motion to it. On the gorgs, I see the grubes and ribbon...what's the third?
  21. Starki are somewhat seasonal but DD pops them up periodically. Orange lined cardinal? Striped bassist...candy or similar? Other damsels...these are kinda cool looking and different: http://www.liveaquaria.com/diversden/ItemDisplay.cfm?c=2733+3&ddid=300121 I've always wanted a blue dot puffer, but haven't had one. Always worried more about my clean up crew...don't recall hearing so much about lps and gorgs... good to know if that's experience you've had.
