  1. I know some people will pay lots of money for livestock. But it is always a shock to see how much! http://www.pacificeastaquaculture.com/Tahitian-Super-Ultra-Maxima-Clam-V-D2134-Prodview.html It must be rare?
  2. Wow, sorry to hear that! Maybe next time some netting, and or egg crate.
  3. The pics look nice, as for your skills. You have to start somewhere, and I promise your ahead of me!
  4. Wow, some real war stories here The most my B&W clowns have done is whip my hand with their tails if I big them with my hand. I've even split an anemone threy were in while it was on the rock(part of the foot was in a hole, so I could not remove it). Though they will bite larger fish that come within an inch or two of the anemone. But they prefer to let the threat of an anemone sting deter any would be bullies.
  5. I would love one, if you make a kit or build a batch. I'm in for one feeder and one breeder. Gotta love ingenuity some people have it, some people don't! Great design! Even more props for getting your own patent!
  6. If your using a mesh don't you want something to get in between the fibers? Why not use a broom head or something like a toothbrush. Less worry about wiper rubber dry rot. And more surface area. As well as extra agitation. As for a counter rotating dual shaft...check into clock designs. The second minute and hour hands are often set around each other. This could mean more screens in a smaller space. I will PM you a couple images tomorrow. I can see differing lengths/diameters of PVC pipe and some good belt drives doing all you need for that mechanism. Unless you want to pay out for aluminum pipes. Just my 2¢. I can't wait to see what you do with this algae idea. *EDIT* But how about a sane one? MUWAHAHA!
  7. Wow, thats incredible! I was just checking my rbta's and comparing the size of shrimp I feed them to the other tank inhabitants! Great timing to be able to catch that. Now I fear for my chromis...and precious mandarins.
  8. I just caught a LARGE bristle worm. It was just sitting out by some rock. The video is bellow. http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid968.photobucket.com/albums/ae163/wolfsfang2/video-2012-01-05-20-38-25.mp4 When I pulled it out of the tank. It stretched out set least 7".
  9. They looked like tiny peppermints. But after looking at some pictures I believe they are mysis.
  10. Yeah, I guess I asked the wrong thing. Now that you put it that way...I want my sump to SHUT UP!
  11. Thanks, they are just mysis. I will put the video of one I caught up. I'll also try to get a FTS tomorrow. How is your nano? I've not heard anything lately.
  12. Onux, I have a mag pump 1800. With my flow rate and power heads creating surface turbulence I have no oily surface mess. Which is why I want to keep the system thats on the tank now.
  13. If I am correct they both have a specific design for the actual overflow in the tank. I just need to silence the falling water a bit in my sump. I'm not wanting to rebuild the system.
  14. Welcome to the club! The tank looks great, and I think we all learned this lesson the hard way...I'm still replacing stuff!
  15. My overflow system is just thre PVC pipes streight into my sump. Which makes lotsw of noise. Anyone have a suggestion on how to shut this thing up?
  16. Yes yaitz they were dancing! I will need to get a red light, but they are great at avoiding bring seen. A soon as I get within a few get of the tank they hide.
  17. Thanks for the great link treesprite! Now I really want to try a small batch. But it will be quite a while before I can even attempt!
  18. Looks great! I think I will try the zeo, does it effect PH/kalk/alk levels? Also, which phone? Ive got the droid Charge and it does not always want to focus properly.
  19. Though I don't do much travel, I use a room key as well. I also like to let my astrena stars go at it. I do have a bunch of coraline algae. But the stars do such a good job it's been three weeks since I scrubbed the tank. So as long as a bit of algae does not bug me I'm good. at night and early mornings sometimes I can see a wall of those little guys working away like a old time prison chain gang working across a rock.
  20. Lol I doubt I could get into breeding them any time soon. I'm also pretty sure there are plenty of members with this happening. I am just excited mine are! That and very curious as to how they can be raised. Who knows what the future holds? Maybe some day!
