  1. Thanks for that, but I think the majority of us in this hobby would agree that behind any good aquarium hobbyist is a great LFS. For that,my hat goes off to you, Quantum Reefs. Keep up the good work.
  2. I was thinking about the same thing, just not sure what to put in there or where to get it from. You have any suggestions?
  3. Thanks guys, I owe a lot to you and your help with the pump, fish, and the coral. Its not were I want it to be, but as long as you stay in business and I keep getting paid, it will get there. Quantum reefs is my choice for my aquarium needs...(sounds like I am ready for a commercial...lol)
  4. Yes, I did. I got a few coral, the small clown (there were two but that sixline is evil, tore the little things tell off) and a great new pump for my return from Quantum Reefs (thanks Vince and Steve). I will try and get a video of the plumping you see in the background. I am very excited about the tank because it has a lot of DIY that I have wanted to try on a tank but never did. The overflow is awesome. Good eye, those are Peacock Rainbows. They do not get as large as the other Rainbows on the market. I have a mix of females and males. It is really cool watching the males display for the females. The Angels are for my wife ( she loves those things) I purchased three when they were the size of quarter from Pristine Aquariums. These two chased the third out of the tan so I am hoping they are male and female, but only time will tell. Both tanks are coming along well, slowly, but well. Thanks for watching.
  5. Sorry for the bad video but my cell phone takes some pretty crappy shots.
  6. Was it? When I tried to view it, the feed would not play. Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Can someone help me post videos of my tanks. I put them on youtube.
  8. You guys are awesome. I am sitting here at my desk LMAO and all my coworkers are looking at me like I am strange. On a serious note, it is very unfortunate that these things happen. I hope justice is served.
  9. I hope it is a good review. The pictures make it look a little toy like. When I was at Quantum Reefs and I got my hands on the DC 5000 it felt much more substantial than it looked. Buying new to the hobby equipment always makes me nervous but someone has to be the test subject. I will be experiencing buyers remorse until I have it plumbed in, plugged up, and running...lol. At least the buying process was painless and enjoyable.
  10. How long have you had them? What are your thoughts about overall functions? I got the 3000 model.
  11. Thanks Quantum Reef, I appreciate the swift assistance and the great experience.
  12. I posted a thread this morning to our vendors looking for a mag 7 pump for my 34 gallon return. Steve and Vince with Quantum Reefs came to my rescue and sold me one of these http://www.advancedaquarist.com/blog/waveline-dc-pumps-by-h2o-systems. I will post some photos when it arrives. For now, let me tell you that if you have not been to this spot you need to take the time and go. The fish are beautiful, the coral are even better, the service is unmatched. The prices are great and Vince is very knowledgeable. These two make a great team. I went in for a pump and came out with that plus a pair of clown and some food for them. Quantum Reefs...5 stars all the way Thanks Steve and Vince
  13. Hello to all WAMAS vendors in the Northern Virginia Area. I am in need of a Mag 7 pump. I have found a lot of them on line but I am trying to make it a point this year to support our LFS more. Anyone of you guys or gals have one I can liberate from you? I appreciate your help with this.
  14. I will post some pictures and try to shoot some video with my phone.
  15. You know, the design doesnt have to use a checkvalve but I see why folk took to using one. You could use something else you just have to be able to close the device before you release the suck presure on the airline.
  16. Alright, I built and tested the overflow and return this weekend and it is very quiet. I will add that the check valve on the priming airline tube is a must ( I thought it was optional), the unit will not hold a siphon without it. I also hooked up a SCWD to the return. Tonight I will break it down and glue it together. I will take pictures and post them of the reconstruction process. Thanks for all the help yall.
  17. The tank is up and running. The fish and nem that are in are happy. I did the drilled glass holes thing on a 75 and I am over it...lol
  18. Someone missed the pert about not drilling the tank...lol
  19. I would like to flow at 600 gph (20x water volume) Do you think that is to much? What do you think I use for pipe diameter? I was thinking 1" on the overflow and 0.5" on the return.
  20. Thanks for the link, that is the design that i have found during my research. It looks really good, my only concern is noise. I worry about sucking/gurgling sounds at the intake and the waterfall sound as the water moves through the pvc. I figure a ball valve on the output pipe might help with draining noise as well as flow restriction (if needed). What about noise potential at the intake?
  21. Hello, Well, wamas has never let me down. So as I stand on the precipice of another grand DIY adventure, I turn to wamas for advice. I have a 30 gallon breeder, http://wamas.org/for...reeder-project/ , that I want to put a DIY pvc overflow on. I have researched alot of designs over the last 3 months and now I want to know what you guys would design. I am looking for something as quiet as possible and self priming. I am open to all suggestions except for drilling the tank. Thanks in advance for the advice and I look forward to this thread.
  22. My wife and I are going to drive out there on the 26th to check the place out and pick up some coral for our 30 gallon breeder. I have wanted to go check this place out for a long time.
