  1. Thanks, I saw monkiboy's thread and videos. Big part of why I took the plunge. I cant wait for this thing to get here. I was surprised, when I did a search through our forums, that Monikboy is the only one that appears to have made the investment in the unit. I am going to try and log the progress of my water quality so that my fellow wamasers might experience this beauty with me.
  2. Hello Wamas, As I am sure you can ascertain from the title of this thread, I have purchased a Genesis Renew Auto Water Change System and weather permitting it should be here by Wednesday. I will be posting photos and information as things arrive. This is going to be great!!! That is all for know but stay tuned in.
  3. Yup, looking into a new light, but all things seem to be in place. How's your tank?
  4. Currently the tank has two Talbots Damsels and a Clown. I am not sure about what I will add from here. Corals? There is an unidentified acro frag, a BTA, an acan, and GSP. Also not sure what will go in from here. I do know that I want to put SPS corals on the MagRocks. As for my stand, I have taken some time off for my birthday next month and I will be finishing it off then and will be adding a more diverse clean up crew. Thanks for looking in.
  5. Thanks Neto, I am not sure about pmw? I am going to try and talk with someone at Digital Aquatics. Thanks again for the information.
  6. Wow, no advice? And the cheese stands alone.
  7. Hey all, I have a 59 gallon Oceanic and a Reefkeeper Net. I want to do a DIY Rapidled Kit that will allow me to grow anything I want in the tank and be controlled by a Reefkeeper ALC module. I do not have any electrical background so if you could use the K.I.S.S. method for your explanations that would be helpful. Counting on my wamas family for help with this one. Thanks in advance.
  8. my tank is really quiet. i am not worried about the sounds I do hear when I am in the basement watching TV. For aesthetics ( the wife ) I want to put a drape around it to hide the equipment and give it a more finished appearance.
  9. So I built an aquarium stand but I don't want to cover it in wood. I am looking for ideas for draping the stand in fabric. If you can post pictures that would be helpful. Otherwise, all advice is welcome. Thanks, Andre
  10. after testing last night, all parameters are WNL save for NO3. The results of that test are off the chart. I am not sure a 50% water change will do the trick...lol My plan is to leave the fish in the hospital tank and do a 50% water change tonight and another one on Saturday. Hopefully that will make a dent in those dang nitrates.
  11. Thanks, it was rather impromptu and very exciting. I cant wait to stock it up and grow out some corals.
  12. That is what I was thinking but I wanted to get some other takes on the situation.
  13. Thanks for the advice, I will monitor it closely.
  14. I did not use anything new. The only new item is the tank.
  15. I was thinking the same thing, so I have a 30 gallon brute full of ready water as needed. The sand bed was may be a year old and it was about 1.5 inches thick.
  16. I have to Percs and three Talbots Damsels. I think they are all hardy enough. I will test the water tonight and if things are not in a bad way I will let the kids back into the pool.
  17. By the way, I put all of my livestock into my hospital tank until I am sure the tank is safe. *No fish were harmed in the making of this upgrade*
  18. Hey All, Before you ask, I will post pictures tonight. I converted my 30 gallon breeder over to a 58 gallon Oceanic on Sunday. I used all the old rock, all of the old sand, and all the old water from my 30 breeder. The sump that I was running on my old tank is also a 30 breeder. I left the sump untouched(old water (25 gallons), old sand, old everything) and just plumbed the new tank in and turned on the flow. All that being said, should I expect a cycle? Thanks for your input, Andre
  19. Thanks for the info. We got it from ebay, brand new for 75.00. After checking prices else where, I decided it might be worth a try. I have a 55 gallon freshwater tank I am going to put it on for experimenting. I wish they made one I could use on my 30 breeder.
  20. Hey All, I just received a brand new WP-40 by Jebao in the mail. What are the thoughts and experience on these units. It is overkill for my 30 breeder but was purchased primarily for my future upgrade. Thanks for the input.
  21. Wow, no one using this product? Well, I strongly recommend it. I have a sick fish that is doing a really good job of fighting off the illness on its own and I think it is because of this product. Thanks for reading.
  22. Hey all, I have been using this for about a month maybe two and am having great success with it. Wanted to know if anyone else is using the product and what your thoughts are. As well as how you feed it. I soak New Life Spectrum pellets in this for 20 minutes before feeding. God, the fish can not get enough of it.
