  1. Awesome! Your fish are very happy!
  2. Maybe this will help... http://www.aquariumdimensions.com/ Dimensions vary by brand. Check your 55 and the 10.
  3. Saw this similar product at Petco last week - looked cool!
  4. Steroids seem to be their first line of defense...
  5. Laughed out loud at this one...and it would be me if I tried diving! i can't cope on a boat or snorkeling without dramamine (the good bitter pills, not the chewable!)
  6. That was amazing (though a little like watching something being born)! I now believe it when they say every square inch needs to be covered tightly.
  7. Oh yay! ...though I would have been happier if that had all been surrounded by pillows after all that work... :-)
  8. I definitely wouldn't have anything I prized directly downstream of GSP. They definitely are toxic. As a matter of fact, I think I saw them on a "top ten" list of sorts. Keep them separated and hopefully running carbon will help.
  9. Dump another cube in a warm test and see what happens. Cool!
  10. Looks good! I have a tiny yellow clown goby in my picotope with sexy shrimp and it's great. Check the adult size on the clown gobies - they can be very different. I like the pandas. Sexies should probably be well fed with zoas in there too though. A peppermint would be nice. I threw 2 skunk cleaners in my nuvo 16 and they seem WAY too big. One maybe, but they are extremely active. I couldn't imagine one in my 3 gallon. I use a 16 ounce or so cup and just dip it in the tank to do water changes once or twice a week. I probably aim for about a half gallon a week. A Rio 50 might be worth a try in there. I have one and keep debating adding it, but everything seems happy now so I keep waiting. It would be perfect flow and you could aim the nozzle behind the rock. I don't really use carbon unless I have the need. I just stuff some filter floss in the little hob and change it out a couple times a week. I find that with the picos, keeping it simple and using primarily water changes and a little mechanical filtration works best.
  11. Fascinating! Thanks for giving me something new to learn about.
  12. That is hysterical! I can't see it any other way now
  13. Looks cool. I can't wait to see it with sand on it. I'm always amazed at how realistic this stuff ends up. It will eventually populate with the live stuff from your other live rocks. The gel superglue is fine.
  14. I agree that it's just part of the cycle. It will die down.
  15. Might check BRK?
  16. Lucky you. I got sold a "for store display only" model and have yet to ask what to do about that (and my pump is rattling...). No serial number for the warranty.
  17. Stomatella! Personal fave! Someone asked for an ID a few days ago.
  18. Congratulations! What a sweet looking baby!
  19. Can't wait to see pictures when you set it up. I would love to have that tank. As for the light, I don't have any real opinions except a couple of Evergrows may be a good option. A 250 metal halide doesn't seem nearly enough. Did you get the matching canopy? How do you plan to mount them. What are your goals for the tank?
  20. Tagging along and hoping things turn out well... You have gotten alot of good advice.
  21. Remember that the more water you pull out the lower your salinity will be if you top off with fresh rodi water. You may have to compensate for that.
  22. Blennies! And my yellow stripe possum wrasse...
  23. That was me last weekend, except it was 5 year old girls and boys at Pump It Up. Does that mean I should go check out goodies too?
  24. Let your tank run with the Aquaclear filters you currently have and see how it goes. You can always add an HOB skimmer down the road if you find it necessary - no need to start with one. There are plenty of people who run tanks without skimmers. You may find that you need to be a little more aggressive with water changes. Everyone will have an opinion on this one.
