Never seen one of those before - very nice looking fish.

Lowes sells a thicker piece of acrylic for about 18 dollars. It's sized about 2' x 3 or 4' and is 1/4" or so thick. Of course laminating is good too.

No suggestions other than frag into good tissue and hope for the best as others have suggested. I made a bunch of frags out of some old ceramic tile that you're welcome too. I also have a bottle go glue ready to go! Let me know if you want some help fragging - I can be available sometime tomorrow if you decide to go for it.

Very nice photo Tom, hope it grows well for you!

That's great Tom. Looking forward to seeing pictures posted along with your other new additions. Thanks for stopping by with the frags, looking forward to seeing htem grow!

That's weird, I votes shortly after Chad posted.

Live Aquaria is a great resource as is their fish compatibility chart.

Never even thought about the Starry Blenny. I'll have to keep a closer watch on him. Although that's going to be a touch one as I sometimes don'e see him for a day at a time. Some of the holes he shimmies into don't look nearly big enough but he somehow fits. I agree with you about the Rabbit Fish. I didn't mention it before but I've also been keeping sheets of nori on a clip and he's been picking at it pretty regularly. He was a bit skinny when I got him and he's been eating pretty well. I'll have to try to get another picture of him to compare to see if he's bulking up any. He seems to be eating well - he eats pellets, nori, mysis, and flakes.
-
Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder S&T - I have seen him brush the RBTA's a bunch of times as well.
-
Jan - He's a new addition to the tank but he has been eating. He's eaten flakes, mysis, nori, pellets all with good gusto after the first day. He brushed VERY close to the rabbit fish quite often but I have not seen him scrap against rocks. I thought it looked like scapes too..

Contact infor for Bob, Lanman

Traded pm's with Bob the other day. I'd say give him a day or two to get back to you. -
I don't know what's going on with this guy. He seems to be acting normal, but he's not looking normal. I took this photo on 11/4/2011 I took this photo just a few minutes ago. Anyone have any idea? I did find some comments saying that these guys just need some time to settle in (recent addition to the tank) but I don't want to just stick my head in the sand and hope for the best if there's something more going on. Thanks for any thoughts.

Thanks! It's a Marineland 30x30x24. I love the extra depth on it, I looked at some 36" deep tanks too and that extra 6" just makes it seem too big! At least for the space I have. If I were to ever get a 36" tank, I'd have to be able to get to it from both sides, or invest in scuba gear.

It was a good time. Thanks for the burgers! Those HUGE SPS colonies were just too much to pass up Johnny! Hope you have a record weekend!

Thanks. The Kole may not be one of the flashiest or most colorful tangs out there, but they're my favorite one. Usually a very active fish bouncing all over the place. They seem like they're having fun as they swim around. And so far this one seems to be living up to my expectations

Took some new photos today. Mostly of my new fish addititions. Added a Kole Tang, a Two-Bar Rabbit Fish and a Starry Blenny.

Hahaha this one definately gets my vote!

They have great color to them especially when they're closed up a little bit - the color is such a deep red. They're natural splits from my Dad's tank that he originally got from DaveS last year.

My wife has a friend that uses that camera and she gets lots of really nice photos with it. No personal experience other than seeing lots of the nice pictures Plus I'm a huge fan of Canon cameras in general so I don't think you can go wrong there either.

It was hard to get an in-focus shot for some reason. But here's my rags-to-riches clown. A couple months ago he looked like he was on death's door. Fins torn up, faded color and the face had white highlights on the nose that didn't look normal. Now this fish has colored up nicely, fins all repaired and is growing like a weed. On the way to becoming a femaile I'd guess at this point. Right in the middle of this picture is the beginning of a split that I spoted yesterday. At least that's what I think it is. This shot shows not only all my corals on the sand due to the roaming nem's, but also the "lobe" formation of the anemome. The split show above is about a third of the way up on the anemone on the left. Shot of the tank from the right side.

Prime's 75 gallon build
CaptainRon replied to .OptimusPrime.'s topic in Dedicated Tank (Build) Forum
To get the water past the top of the hole, you'd have to pump in more water than the drain hole can hangle, or, slow the drain down. But as others have noted, doing that without a backup can have pretty bad results in the form of an overflowing tank and an empty sump. You could put an overflow box around the bulkhead or a 90-degree fitting angled to get the water height you want. Good luck! -
The one on the right hasn't moved in a little while, 2 weeks or so, so I'm probably safe with that one. But it's so big! The one on the right has been settled since mid last week but it's the one that has what I think is a split beginning. Right now I have all corals on the sand except for that fire digitata up top - and that one is half dead from a brush with the 'nem. Although it looks like it's got polyps coming back out from where I thought it had died off.

1996 Technology Skimmer. Nice basic design principle that still works. Having a 30" x 30" foot print to deal with doesn't leave me much room to setup a sump and all the other equipment I want. The sump is a 20 gallon high, undrilled and a bubble trap in more or less the middle of the tank. A digital Avast top off kit is connected to my Apex and controls the water level in the sump via a BRS topoff pump. A couple of Avast probe holders keep my pH, ORP and temperature probes in place. Front shot of the stand/sump area with controllers mounted on the front of the stand. One of these days I'll get the stand skinned. Up front, so it's relatively easy to get to, is my Avast kalk stirrer. The salt bucket is my fresh water storage. This is my current light setup. I got the AI Sol Blue light hung from the ceiling and added two AquaticLife Dual Bulb T5 fixtures to go on either side of the AI. I had planned on selling the AI and getting a full blown LED setup, but something cam up and those plans will have to be further down the road. The full setup in all it's glory The MJ prop pumps aren't currently being run. I used to have a third RBTA that got sucked into a pump so they're temporarily off until I can get my frag tank setup or the RTBA's stop moving around! The one on the far left has circum navigated the tank several times now and I believe is getting ready to split - I saw what I think is the beginning of a split and both of them have had kind of a lobe off to one side making me think it's getting ready to push off a clone. We'll see.

This is one of the many reasons I love this hobby so much. It's fun to see the random things that pop up years after you thought they where long gone after making the smallest of changes.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Anthony. Let me know if you need anything or want to try fragging anything - I'll be a temporary donor site for you.
