I had a 55 reef for 2 years, upgraded to a 90 and upgraded to a 120 after 4 months. I am satisfied with the 120. If I could do it again, I would have upgraded to a 120 straight from the 55. If you think you can go that rout, I would seriously give it a thought.

I am setting up my first calcium reactor but i have a few questions. I purchased a korallin 1502 calcium reactor. I know there is an input where the water is fed to the reactor, and the output is the water going back to the tank. I dont understand what the clear plastic tubing does. Water comes out of it if i open the valve just like the output line but i have the valve closed right now. Do i also let the water drip from there? Is 40 drops pr minute and 10 bubble count of co2 good place to start?

I have a calcium reactor which has been sitting with media in it for over 4 months without being used. I wanted to know if the media has to be replaced for me to use it again. I only used the reactor for a month when i filled it with new media. Can i just take the water out of the reactor and rinse the media?

How long can you keep saltwater prepared for a water change? I am wondering if it goes "bad"? I normally mix it for 24 hrs and do a water change. I want to always have saltwater ready in a larger container so i dont have to go through the mixing process every week. Lets say, can i have it sit with pump and heater for 2-3 weeks at least?

Yeah I read about it and will keep an eye on it. Its looks like its headed that way but too early to say anything. It can go anywhere right now.

powers out here, trees and branches are down at places. Petco is closed :( I have a 90gal, any suggestions on how to keep the tanks ph up? I took a cup and took some water and dumped it back in the tank and im dking this every 30 mins idk if its helping...

Power still here in howard county.. im glad. Hope it stays this way.

yeah sorry, a pump is what i meant. I will call up my petco and see if they have one. if not, worst case scenario.. will me mixing the water with something from time to time help?

and i couldnt get my hands on a battery powerhead. I hope the power doesnt go out for too long! Will find out tonight..
