Hey Chip, do you run AC in the house? If so, what do you keep your thermostat at? Our bill is also around $330 for a 1200sqf with AC @76. It just doesn't sound right to me. Although maybe Maryland has worse rates than Virginia.

Brian, I have this exact problem. My AC is hooked up to the central air in a 1200 Sq. Ft. apartment. I swear the AC isn't rated for this much square feet. I keep the thermostat set at 76 and on the warmer days my AC would run 24/7 to keep up.

Very interesting. I know I have these in my main tank. Could explain my lack of coralline algae. Haven't noticed any loss of tissue on my sps corals though. Thanks for the heads up Jan. I'll have to pay more attention now.

I recently rid my tanks of red bugs with 3 treatments of Interceptor. Its the only way to get rid of them.

Always quarantine your fish. I treat with copper on all new tangs. They are so susceptible to ick.

I really like Blastomussa Wellsi and I know that it is one of the slowest growing corals in the hobby. What I am wondering is if anyone has ever documented blastos growth. Or if there are any tricks to get them to spread. How do they grow? Do the polyps divide? I have a 3 polyp frag and it hasn't grown any new polyps since I got it over a year ago.

I had this same problem with a green monti cap. Never found out what the cause was. At the time it was one of 10 other monti caps in the same tank and the green one was the only one to show sings. Anyone got an answer?

Well my dremel died a couple months back. I called up dremel's service dept. and they told me to send it in. I got a brand new one back in less than a week. A+++++++++++++++++++++++++

Has anyone ever been to MACNA before that understands how the raffles work? I was just wondering how much tickets were and if they had different priced raffles. Example: 1$ raffles, $5 raffle, & $10 raffles. Or if they have door prizes?

Wow, I think you're right Dave. I just did a Google search for images of pistol shrimp claws and they do look completely different. I just assumed they were the pistol's claws since I haven't seen him enough to know what they look like. I just knew that they weren't from a hermit crab. Must have a unknown crab in there somewhere.

I haven't seen him since I put him in the tank months ago. The only way I knew he was still alive was the "snapping" sound. I cracked open the large claw and found NO meat in it...So now what?

I bought my first pistol shrimp a few months ago. Today I saw two claws drifting around my sand bed. I have no experience with these little guys and was wondering if when they molt they lose their claws?
