  1. Ha ha Bob... He is right about those cheap bits. IMO its better to take it slow then to rush it. I usually spend about 2 min for that thick of glass.
  2. Thanks for the comments everyone. Ha ha, I know..I just suck at taking photos. Actually I have 2 frag tanks. Right now I am in the middle of getting a new bulb for one of them so I moved a few frags into my DT to color them back up. Hence the ugly frag rack on the back wall. I am actually thinking of using black eggcrate and building a huge frag rack that would take up the majority of the back wall...like this Yup I still got em'. Click Here
  3. Here it is... 120 gal AGA Tank Custom built stand 40 gal breeder sump w/ refugium Red Sea C-Skim 1200 40 watt UV Sterilizer Light is a Current fixture with 2x250w HQI 14k Phoenix & 4x54 T5 ATI Blue+ dKH:11-12 Ca:400-450 Mg:1500+ SG:1.025-1.026 I would like to publicly thank Renato (El Camaron) for taking such great photos. Enjoy.
  4. I use a QuietOne 3000 on each of my tank's returns, but I have larger drains 2 x 2in on each. My overflow is rated for 1500gph and the QuietOne 3000 runs around 580gph. @ 4 ft of head. I think the max amount a 1in drain can handle is 600gph. Quiet One 3000
  5. Thanks Ryan. You should come over one day and check em out. The MH definitely takes the cake on growth but the T5 brings out the colors better. I would strongly advise against a 400w MH over a 40 gallon breeder. I have a 250w 10k DE bulb in a lumenarc stealth mini reflector and it does great. I am buying a 14k phoenix to replace the 10k soon cuz its washing everything out. The spray bar was more noticeable when I had less flow in the tank, but now that I have two modded mj1200's, I can barely tell its still sparying. I originally hooked up a pump to my PVC to keep the water in the tube from rotting. I wouldn't go the same route with the 1/2in PVC frame. Instead try something like this: I just recently built this frag rack and I have to say it works very well. I call it my "stadium seating frack rack." There are no zip ties or glue, just 3 in PVC pipe with eggcrate stacked on top. So simple!
  6. Very impressive! I am glad to hear you had good luck with glasscages. Keep us posted! Does that vortech on the back wall cause a sand storm?
  7. Yeah I was just asking if Renato got it yet.
  8. When is this bad boy suppose to be in?
  9. Definitely looks like signs of RTN'ing. Here is what happened to my GARF Purple Bonsai in 2 days after being stung by another SPS coral.
  10. First off a Ricordia Garden Tank is an amazing idea! I want to see frequent picture updates. I would definitely go with a 4 bulb T5. If you want a quality unit and don't mind spending some extra dough, the Tek 4 bulb fixture is pretty nice. I could recommend some good bulb combos regardless. If you are worried about the light being too intense, just raise the light.

Looking Pretty Sweet. I wish this was available to me when I first got into the hobby. I wonder if we could make a link for the map somewhere on the forums page. Maybe under vendor forums.
  12. A UV Sterilizer will help keep the algae under control but cutting back on the lights is probably the quickest and cheapest solution.
  13. Was just in Aquarium One today and I have to say things are looking promising. They had (3) 120 Gallon tubs setup. Here is a picture as of today.

  15. Decided to build a new frag rack in the LPS tank.
  16. Those legs glow if you grab them. My Thread , Video #1 , Video #2.
  17. Phil is right. I have Glass-Holes overflow kits on 2 of my tanks and the there should only be one gasket per hole and the gasket goes on the inside of the tank in between the overflow box and the tank wall.
  18. Geez, 1500 gallons and $200,000...I wonder if there are any pictures of the tank before its demise.
  19. Depends on how thick the glass is, how much space is between each hole and how far the holes from then edge of the tank walls. Do you have a picture of the holes on the tank that broke?
