  1. I would remove some of that sand. tank is cloudy from the sand. Get some filter floss or a poly filter to help clear it up. I guess that's what your asking?
  2. Weird, I have win7 and got my back up and running yesterday. Big thing is to allow port forwarding through your router.
  3. I thought I would post some resources for people who are interested in Breeding or culturing phytoplankton. Breeding Information Marine Breeder Seahorse.org Rotifer.com Copepodgeek Ocean Pods CCMP Supplies and Cultures Seahorse Source Florida Aqua Farms Reed Mariculture Brine Shrimp Direct Feel free to add to the list.
  4. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/feb2003/breeder2.htm Good article with pictures on a simple copepod culture. This is basically what I had setup before.
  5. So I found one of the clowns sucked into the intake on the AC50. I was suprised as they are 2". I moved my devils hand heater, toadstool and purple gorp over to this tank. Almon or Justin, Ill be looking for a B&W Ocellaris when yours are ready.
  6. Florida Aqua Farms.com they have a plankton culture manual, pretty good book on culturing this. I would start with phyto. You need air pump, tubing, containers, light, salt mix and starter culture of Nanno. Oh and f2 algae grow, This can be ordered as a kit from FAF. Talkingreef.com has a good video on how to setup and culture phytoplankton. Most people grow rots in a bucket with a sponge filter, heater and light. Rots feed on the greenwater. Try to culture two different ones in case one crashes. Copepods need just a container or tank. sponge filter, depending on the type of copepod heater or not. You can feed them phyto or flake food. Florida Aqua Farms and Reef nutrition have starter cultures and live ones that you could use.
  7. So is it up and running for the internet? or are you now reprogramming it?
  8. Factory default for the router or AC?
  9. Justin is right, your going to have to port foward the router...... bshriver had to help me setup mine.
  10. I've raised copepods before for pipefish that I had. I plan on mixing up their diet. bbs enriched, copepods, mysis as they get bigger.
  11. Oops, didnt see were you said you are going to raise them. My bad.
  12. What kind of seahorse are you planning on keeping? Most will east mysis or brine shrimp. If you get CB they will prob eat frozen. I just setup a 6gal for DSH and dwarf pipes.
  13. No, the bubbles hitting the eggs is a good thing, just not too much. I believe you said the filter was running? Prob that.
  14. Oh, I should add that I add a tablespoon of Kalk to my 5gal ATO container once in awhile.
  15. I have a smaller tank then most of you. In my 40br I dose 50ml of 2-part a day. I made my own DIY doser for both that doses 10ml 5 times a day throughout a 24hr period. I have to check them from time to time, but they work well and coral growth is excellent. In a system like my its cheaper to dose 2-part then a bigger system. If I had a bigger system I would def have to go the reactor route.
  16. Could of been the temp and did the S.G. of both tanks match? Did you have the airstone bubbles hitting the eggs?
  17. where did u move the eggs too? If something else was in the tank with them, they prob were eaten.
  18. 5.5gal AGA HOB Need small light Need some river rock.... Running for 2wk's now. In my basement, Temps holding at 55-57 deg............. Stocking???????? Daniel needs to give me stuff...............
  19. Reef Fanatic..... update....... mini cycle is over. added 12lb of dry rock last week. Got it from Reef Cleaners and I must say its, very porous for florida rock. got some snails and two misbar B&W clownfish on the way.
  20. Did you talk to Evilc66 on NR. He made them and he has some pretty good charts with PAR reading with the different optics. Tracking would work. You dont want to enclosed the back of those lamps due to heat. Im looking at doing two on track lighting over a 20H with the 60deg optics.
  21. So my daughter has taken an interest in clownfish. She has been reading my book on them. We decided to upgrade her 5.5gal to a 20H. Stocking will be pair of clowns, maybe a firefish and softie corals. 20H tank 2 AC30's. one for a HOB fuge 20lb LR 20lb sand Either 24" T5HO light or PAR38 LED lamps. Koralia 1 100W heather. ATO. I moved most of the contents of her 5.5gal into this tank. As you can see I need more rock which is ordered and on the way. Add I need the new light and PH
