  2. There must be something else wrong then. Myabe I don't feed the refugium enough water.
  3. My refugium is about 20"x10" area in the sump. The micro algae in it never grows well. I am using a 65W power compact light. I think the light is not strong enough. What do you think?
  4. I contacted Neptune and they told me the DC8 is bad. They want me to ship it back to them for repair. THe cost is $50.
  5. It was a 300W heater. I have moved it to port #6 and it working.
  6. I did not know the 4 and 8 are different from others. I had my heater on #5. I noticed my water temperature is too high even in winter time. That was how I found out the port is not working. Bob
  7. #5 port of my DC8 stays on all the time. Can't even turn it off manually. All other 7 ports work. Can this be fixed?
  8. Just checked. They are not cheap!!!
  9. Does anyone know where to find the mandarins bred by ORA?
  10. I realizes this is my own fault. I shut the water off one day when changing the filter in my RO unit and forgot to turn it back on. The tank water evaporated caused the water level in the sump to drop. Part of the heater was exposed to the air. I did not realize that the heater in the sump was broken.
  11. I got shocked again this past week when cleaning the tank. I decided to look for the problem again. I used a volt meter, one end in the water and one end connected to the the metal body of the light fixture. It showed 120V. I disconnect the power equipment one by one until the meter does not show 120V anymore. It was the heater in the sump(350W Ebo Jager) instead of the heater in the frag tank.
  12. Exactly! I just try to find out how to measure the current in the tank water.
  13. hmmm... so many people want to have their ex put their hands in the tank to "test" the current, I better check if my wife sabotages any of the tank equipment.
  14. I think it was the heater I touched but it could be the light fixture too. I will use the volt meter tonight to see if I can detect the voltage.
  15. I was doing some maintenance yesterday and I felt the shock. Now I am afraid to put my hand in for the time been. Is there a way to use a meter to measure there IS a current in the water? Where do I put my probes? One in the water one in the ground of electricity outlet? I like to disconnect one equipment at a time and do the measurement before I put my hand in the tank again.
  16. My ACIII is showing temperature 130F for a few days. I think I need a temperature probe. I am leaving on vacation next Wednesday for 3 weeks. I try to fix this before I take off but I don't think I have enoough time to order one online. Does anyone has one I can borrow for about 3-4 weeks? Or if you have one willing to part (new or used) I am more than happy to pay a fair price. Thanks Bob
  17. I don't think they are cleaner shrimp. The cleaner shrimp larva do not swim that fast.
  18. interested in 1 medium sized elegance coral (20$) how long have you had it?
  19. Roozen used to have them all the time.
  20. I carry newly mixed salt water by hand from the basement to the main floor to do water change. Can someone recommend an internal pump that can do 10 ft head pressure and about 50 ft distance?
  21. OMG it is a pistol shrimp!!! I was grabbing a frag near a rock using a tweezers. The shrimp came out attacked the tweezers and making a snapping sound. I bought this shrimp with a yellow watchman goby together about 6 months ago. I only saw the shrimp on the first day. I thought the shrimp never made it. Now it is huge lives under a rock. It has blue/green/red on the body. Not sure if it is going to get bigger and pose a danger to other animals in the tank.
  22. I used 1 cap full of Revive with about 750ml of tank water. First spider, mini star fish, pods and worms fell off after 5-10 minutes dip. I siphoned them out to a small container with tank water trying to see what they were. The spider looked stressful but still moving, the rest looked dead. The corals were dipped for another 5-10 minutes I think. I put the zoa in a small contain with tank water until this morning.
  23. I left the zoa in a small container after the dipping last night. A spider was parked on top of a polyp this morning, live and healthy. Apparently they can sustain Revive dip much better than other creatures.
  24. I decide to dump the zoa to be safe.
