  1. Nick, You need to include the sale price for the complete package or price for each individual items if you were to part out.
  2. That is one cool looking eel. There's no way in you know what that I could ever keep one of them. They look like snake and snakes scare the jeebees out of me.
  3. I took the barrel outside and cleaned the inside with water and vinegar. I then wiped it dried and let it air dried some more before I ran the RODI. It will most likely need to run all day today and possbly into the night before it fill up the 30 gal barrel again. I'll see if I can get a tarp to cover up the barrel to see if that would make any difference in keeping the bacteria slime from forming.
  4. The last time I checked it, it was something like 12 on the TDS meter. I have a mag 13 pump in the tank that is connected to a hose to pump the water to my 7 gal ATO container. I also have separate plastic jar that I used to scoop water out, but that is all that it's used for. Since the barrel is nearly empty now, I'll clean it today and run another batch of RODI water and take a measurement of the water coming directly out of the RODI and the water in the barrel and see what kind of reading it's showing.
  5. Do you know if it's normal for us to get some kind of TDS reading in the water storage tank after a day or so? The water I collected and tested directly out of the RO/DI showed 0 reading, but the water in the storage container showed a reading. I don't know where this reading is coming from.
  6. Could that also be the reason why my handheld TDS meter is registering the level around 12 or so?
  7. All, After months of battling with green hair algae in my tank that did not seem to work, I turned to the one thing that I have not looked at since I first put it to use and that was the water storage barrel that I got from the pepsi plant. I emptied out most of the water in the barrel, then pulled out the mag 13 pump I had in it that I used to pump water from there to my top off tank. I noticed that there was this slimey coating on the mag 13. I then tipped the barrel over and noticed a coating of slimey stuff that is there as well. I ran my fingers over it, and it felt slimey like what was on the mag 13. Before I first put this barrel to use, I added chlorox as well as detergent to clean the sugary substance off of it, ran it through several rinses, let it dried completely, ran it through several more rinses before I finally put it to use. With all that, now I find slimey stuff on the bottom. Is that normal? If not, what's the best way to clean the barrel to get rid of it? Add vinegar?
  8. WOW, upstate NY.....
  9. I saw your 175 bowfront and I personally think you should just use that one. It already looked big in your last house. In a townhouse, it's going to look even bigger.
  10. Welcome.
  11. I believe this is what you're looking for.... http://www.wamas.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3992
  12. Happy Thanksgiving to all the WAMAS members and their families from the Nguyen's family.
  13. Peppermint shrimps worked wonder for me.
  14. Thanks guys. I'll see if I can set it up over the weekend. My tunze nano skimmer, the second pump is getting close to being on the fritz.
  15. I just got a Euroreef RS 80 skimmer, I know that it's an in sump skimmer. Can someone tell me if the tube where the return water comes out of the skimmer has to above the water surface or can it be below the water surface?
  16. Where did you see those lights at? They are gorgeous looking.
  17. LOL I would listen to you but it's getting cold outside and I don't think the garage be that much warmer. One of those locations is where I'll end up if I do as you suggested. Tempting though. LOL
  18. I would grab this right now if I had the money. With the holiday being around the corner and Christmas gifts for family and nieces and nephews, I have no more funding till at least end of Jan.
  19. Legally, no. Can you bring them back to the US? Yes, as long as you don't make it obvious about it. A buddy of mine who is a custom agent, said that they know that most if not all cigars people bring back to the US from abroad are Cuban made. They're not stupid about it. If you leave the cuban tag on the cigars and they see it, then they have no choice but to confiscate it. Also, don't bring so much back into the US that would flag a suspicion that the cigars might be used to sell illegally instead of for personal enjoyment.
  20. Be sure to bring back a few cubana cigars and share with us schmucks who are stuck here in this cold, wet weather. Have a great honeymoon dude.
  21. I've reported businesses in the past to the BBB and also to WTOP News and got my situation resolve. WTOP News has a consumer hotline that you can call to request for help. It usually take them 1 to 2 weeks to call you back. If they feel that you have a legitimate complaint, they will work to help you. There is nothing that businesses hate more than bad publicity. Make sure you document date and time of every contact you attempted, who you spoke to, etc. The more information you have, the better. $25 may not be that much to some people. If it is that insignificant of an amount, then that store should have refund you.
  22. It is also up to the seller discretion on who he wants to sell his stuff to. Like Josh and David said, S*** happens and it's not worth popping your blood vessels over.
  23. I just now got caught up in your thread. WOW. Looks like you had quite an experience. Unless you're one of those folks like Dan who are extremely mechanically inclined, you're bound to encounter set back along the way in getting your tank up and running. Even with my 30 gal tank set up, I had lots of problem along the way too. Luckily, YBeNormal was nearby so he was able to help me out especially in the plumbing area. Your tank is looking very awesome now. I am very impress with it.
  24. Wish I can help you. I use comcast email at home via outlook and so setting up the ACIII email was a fairly straight forward process. Haven't tried it with webmail.
  25. Isn't this what this hobby is all about. It's a continuous learning experience. Just when you thought you got it down pack, something else that you haven't seen or expected before would pop up. Your tank is still a gorgeous tank. You need to set up a tank tour one day.
