  1. A really happy congratulation Dave. You got the devil after all. Stress free!!!!
  2. 6 - 8 months becomes adults. When they are about 2 inches, you can see most of the pattern starts developing and pick out the outstanding ones. I can't remember accurately in months, probably 3-4 months.
  3. Oh.......................... that's a beautiful angel..................... This a very rarely import large angel type. The pix is shown a juvenile Clarion angel. Forgot what the reason for it not to be regularly imports from Baja, Mexico. I don't think the lack of it as the reason.
  4. Dave, I am thinking of setting up a school tank in my daughter kindergarden school. Can we get together and have you show me the rope on how to approach the school in doing this for the little kids. Should I talk to dbarco since I understand he is in charge for the loudoun county schools. Thanks, KLee Better yet, when you give your lecture to Sarah on how to setup a school tank, let me know and I'll sit in to listen also. Educate two persons with one lesson, save you some precious time for your family.
  5. Not sure on the white color snail. The black snail without shell is nassaurite (spelling ?) snail and it's good for the tank, no issue there.
  6. Hahahaha. Dan you're the first and it's going to be a long.........time if we ever see another brave person do something similar like yours. Actually, Justin did something similar, cut out the whole side wall to put up his 550G if that counts. 2 brave men in this club to name first in a short list.
  7. And the name of the pair is...................... Dan, Copps and Johnny will not be happy if we name those rare angels as the common one we usually see at Petco. They are special and very rare (as a pair) small angel. I can't even remember the name since it's so long and hard to pronounce even from hearing repeatedly many times. Something like a Jock similar to an athelic!
  8. Cut a piece or several large pieces of acrylic to make cover for the sump. Make sure you have enough surface wave agitation on the main tank to get additional O2 in.
  9. A small size adult majestic angel........
  10. And you can't miss Rik's place. Walking along his neighborhood, the basement bright blue actinic light standout his whole house in his neighborhood.
  11. You don't have lots of fishes like most people do in a mixed reef tank (well, not yet) . Just do 10% water change every 3 days and less feeding as you plan to, should be fine until get a new replacement pump.
  12. Garrett, Those are PPE and I purchased 3 polyps from Rik. So far, they still have 3 polyps. I can give you 1-2 polyps about 4 months from now. They should spawn more by then, I am spot feeding them now.
  13. Just about any large grocery store will carry distilled water. Shopper, Giants, etc.... For about 69-79 cents/gallon. It's been a while since I purchased an RO/DI unit.
  14. Pretty.................... blasto! Very nice Rik!
  15. Dave, I am not the one who got the regal angel; however, you can always put in a special order for another one. This is the in season for regal angel, powder blue tang, anthias, etc... Gotta get them during the season for a better price.
  16. Josh, I see your signature with a visi-jet skimmer. That skimmer will not work if you plan to put in anemone and coral in the future. Try to save up and purchase a used skimmer when someone has a nice used one up for sale here. I think someone in the club is selling a used Euro-Reef RS80. That is a very good skimmer for your tank. This hobby is costly. Yes we all are experience that and it's pretty addictive. HTH, KLee
  17. Josh, I would try this one, a combo of MH + (not sure T5 or PC 65W actinic). Plus it is on sale with $100+ off. You can put any anemone in and any corals in at any placement level in your tank without worry about not having enough light. http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewItem~idP...ct~CU01040.html KLee
  18. Get the least expensive hermit crabs. When they are hungry, they will chow down any algae sticks out on the rock. At least 20 of them.
  19. I think the two anemones at the bottom page on below link are the ones Tracy were mentioning above. They are still available on Diver dent. http://www.liveaquaria.com/diversden/CatDi...0&siteid=20
  20. Me too. I normally say I don't like it when I can't afford the darn thing. For example, when I drive on the beltway with my wife and we see these hugemongous houses in the Great Falls area and I will tell her I hate those houses. They don't look nice to me since I can't afford them for her and we both laughed. She understood what I meant. You might really hate the design of this tank. For me, these guys are very creative and was able to pull off a very nice design. Good architecturing and engineering group of minds from the canadians.
  21. What do you think? http://www.spacearium.net/
  22. Jim, You might have cloudy tank if the rock in sump has not been cured. If they came from your main tank then it shouldn't happen. I put lots of live rocks in my sump to increase the amount of good bacteria to cycle the water, in return, for adding more fishes. Of course, a larger/adequate skimmer also is another requirement. HTH, KLee
  23. Agree! That's very nice Moshin. Excellent job!
  24. And I witnessed first hand last night, this brave blenny went after all 4 crocea clams Dave has in his tank aggressively. The clams closed their mantles quickly after a really hard bite from this little blenny. Good luck with catching him out, Dave.
