  1. I dont see anything in your post about water test. Has your tank cycled (not likely in less than week) ? I know its fun and exciting but you shouldn't be adding live stock to an uncycled tank. It could end up killing off livestock and wasting your $$$.
  2. from what i know they come out at night. Try a lights out period at night and catch a couple looking for food.
  3. what if you got a 150g rubbermaid stock tank to setup a qt ? the cost of that is probably less than replacing all those fish ? http://www.rubbermaidproducts.com/Merchant...%99+Stock+Tanks Good Luck
  4. What are your water param. ? Lighting issue maybe? You have 4.1 watts per gallon on my 75 gallon I have 10.1 with no prob. growing sofites.
  5. Came home today and went down stairs to check on everything and my female clown did swim up and greet me like she usually does. She is MIA , I have had her for almost 6 mo. She even survived with flying colors when she was in my nano that crashed onto the floor ! I have looked everywhere. I moved every square inch of rock, twice (to make sure i didnt cover her up) No body found , I looked in the overflow , inside the return pipe , inside the outflow pipe of my hob fuge, in the sand, outside the tank , EVERYWHERE ! I am 90% sure I saw her last night or I would have been posting this last night and positive I saw her the night before. I ran some test and everything looks fine. Ammonia-0 Nitrite-0 Nitrate-0 Ph-8.3 Phos-0 SG-1.024 Temp 79 75g AGA (did a water change this past Monday) 1 Hippo tang 1 false perc clown 1 chromis 2 emerald crabs 4 reef hermits 1 codi. anem. varius zoa's, frog spawn, xenia, monti (all of which are doing well) a little gh algae and a little red slime that showed up about a week and a half ago or so. The only questionable item is i found four dead turbo snails behind some rocks that must have died in the past couple days. And the skimmer is particularly nasty right now , much more than normal. ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  6. I'm trying to find it but it was either a post with a link from here or an article i read. It was about tank sizes and how a floor reacts to shock loads vs static loads. If I remember correctly it was something like you could move a heavy object across a floor (shock load) and the floor would be fine but the same floor with a havy object sitting on it reacts differently. I wish I could find what it is i am looking for.........
  7. I gottat tell ya that my friends 150 was causing some sagging issues on his recently built home. His house is on a crawl space and after the tank was up and running happend to be under the house and there was noticable sag enough to make him want to brace it.
  8. Couldnt the same thing be said about all of us keeping fish in small tanks when they should be in the ocean ?
  9. I've had that happen to me a time or two. I shut down the lights before I vacuum and had not had a problem since. I could probably use a new panel also. Just a temp fix.
  10. I feed my condi about once a week. I bought these great long plastic tweezers from walmart. I grab a piece of thawed food and as soon as it even gets close to its mouth he pulls his tentacles in and grabs it. My nieces love to watch.
  11. I dont because of equipment. My wallet is crying after just setting up my 75. Once I can recover from that I look to setup a qt and coral dip.
  12. I voted no/no but live dave , i WILL be doing both very soon.

  17. I'm a Lowes man myself. I cant stand home depot , never anyone around and when they are their useless
  18. yea , i'm not to pressed about them hosting this type of Anem. If they did they did or not thats fine. Once I get more established I will put in one they are more likely to host bta, carpet , saddle something of that nature
  19. I put a condi in my 75 that a friend was holding for me after about a month of the tank being setup (didnt have a choice, I needed to get things moved back) and it seems to be a very hardy species. No such luck with my clowns hosting it yet though.
