  4. Working at a LFS, I have heard of all kinds of things that people do with damsels. Usually we tell people up front that damsels have the potential to be aggressive and that they can bring them back when/if that happens. Sometimes, I'll recommend not going with a damsel for a starter fish but people generally don't want pay a whole lot for a fish that is going into a newly cycled tank and may or may not live. Personally, I have never owned a damsel (excluding clownfish) but I don't think I could ever flush a fish, no matter how aggressive. A friend of mine had a damsel that lived in his sump for quite some time. (sorry for the ranting).
  5. I read about that too. He used a towel once to dry off his face and went numb because he had used it while fragging zoas.
  6. I have messed with many types of anemones (BTAs, LTAs, carpets, etc.) and the only kind that had a sting I could actually feel was a fire anemone. It got the back of my hand and left it red for a couple of days (so far, this actually only happend two days ago). It hurt but it wasn't excruciating.
  7. I can't remember the name but I do believe that it is reef safe. I work at maru pets in Fredericksburg and we got some of those guys in a couple weeks ago. I did som research on them and from what i read they are reef safe.
  8. I'm not really looking to get another chiller.
  9. I have a 24" 4x24w T5 setup that has this bulb combination: Front Hagen PowerGlo 18,000k Hagen MarineGlo Actinic Hagen PowerGlo 18,000k Hagen MarineGlo Actinic I'm looking into getting new bulbs because my Tubs Blue Zoas are blue, but not bright blue as they had been under my 14k halides, and I want them to look like they used to. Any suggestions on bulbs/combinations?

  11. Hey man, i work at maru. I've been there for 2 years and I haven't seen you in there before. I'm not saying we are f'burg's BRK by any means but you should check us out if you haven't been in recently. We've cleaned up a little bit in the past months. There is still much more I think we can do with our coral section (we have lots of leathers) but we're getting better. Also about 2 years ago the ownership changed. The new owner is usually willing to work with people. Another employee and I would like to set up our own SPS frag tank there maybe sometime in the future. I don't blame you for thinking that some stuff is maybe a bit on the pricey side, but we also have really good deals sometimes. I just figured since there isn't much on the forums about Maru so I would put in my 2 cents. Sorry to call you out.
  12. This has interested me as well seeing as I am also setting up a 15g frag tank. As for the T-5's, would it be better to go with a 6x24w fixture or a 4x24w fixture? Would the 6x24w be overkill?

I set it up at home in my family room. Good idea. I will definitely look into it.
