  1. I wasnt there but can relay what happen to a very close friend when he was stung by his Lion. First his hand went numb, then an aching pain went up his arm followed by numbness this feeling then passed to his chest and had difficulty breathing. 911 was called to come get him and taken to the emergency room where he was given something cant remember what (antivenom ??) recovered pretty quickly. The next day or shortly after an animal control office showed up to his house to verify what happen, and to make sure he had no illegal animals.
  2. I'm planning on bringing a couple disk with a couple of Tubs Blues zoos (the ones I bought from Rik @ the summer symp.) they are amazing and grow fast , and a couple disks of neon pink with blue ring zoos for trade. I also have some light pink with light green skirt palys, and some light purple palys. I also have one 1/2" frag of a bright orange polyp monti digi all up for trade. Send me a pm if you want to setup a trade, I'm looking for some cool sps.
  3. DITTO ! It'll be a day trip for me but I'll make a the trip up and back.
  4. I'm not sure what it is but I have a piece of live rock that is covered with nice coraline. I recently moved around a maxijet and a small part of the rock is in the direct flow path of the maxi jet. This part of the rock has gone from purple to brown. It doesnt seem to be spreading , its almost like the flow is killing or burning the coraline for lack of a better term.
  5. looks like ich to me. Being that you have a fowlr tank you may be able to treat the whole tank. I've read good things about Kick Ich and its reef, invert, coral safe not that you need all that. Marine Depot
  6. I had a blue and yellow pygmy angel in my old nano that loved to eat gha
  7. I'm in the same spot, I need to change out my 10ks. I'm leaning toward the 14k phoenix bulbs , I've read alot of good things about them. From the reviews I have read they have a nice crisp blue while providing good coral growth.
  8. I marked my calender for the 10th per the first announcement of a set date.
  9. I guess i should have mentioned that i do have a pair of those aqua gloves and I do use those as well. If I am going to be in the tank for a while I do use those for that reason.
  10. i use the blue latex type gloves you get at cvs/rite aid. They are powder free and work great.
  11. ah come on , the same thing could be said for when you net a fish you've had aclimating the same amount of water the soaks the net is no different than what is left on the turkey baster or if you have livestock that you cannot expose to air you have no choice but get some store water in your tank
  12. nah , its such a tiny amount of water a few drops hasn't hurt anything
  13. I float and clip the bag to the side of the tank so it doesnt blow around and use a turkey baster to suck water out of the bag and to pour water back into the bag. Works great
  14. meh, I would be more impressed if they were in a "bath"- Tub Great corals !!
  15. I had a 12g aqua pod and it broke (long story) however if you decide to upgrade the lighting I have the glass top that came with mine you can have.
  16. with a young tank (mine is to) you may want to start out with some softies. A frag is just a small piece of coral that has been cut or broken off a larger coral and attached to small pieces of live rock or "plugs" of various types to propgate it. When I get a new frag I usually put it down on the bottom to let the coral adjust to the tank. and move it around or up and down in the tank accordingly.
  17. how long has your tank been setup/cycled ?
