  6. I suggest water changes. The simple approach often has good results.
  7. It's true....the copperband will still eat the aiptasia.....all of it. It will take time.
  8. Here are some pictures....before I knew what unsafe fragging was.... These are progression pictures showing the: A purple bonsai with red bugs 2 weeks later after treating entire tank 3 months later...what a difference
  9. I suggest daily water changes. It is unlikely that one (1) rock and a sponge will be sufficient biological filtration.
  10. The whole tank must be treated.
  11. Copper Band Butterfly
  12. I'm not familiar with the Apex, but I think you only need the temp statements. I use an older ACIII and have two heaters programmed with phenomenal success. It's super simple. A graph of the temperature over time shows the range of fluctuation to be no more than 1 degree. The temperature always stayed between 77.0 and 78.0. The Apex can do this, right? If Temp < 77.0 then HT1 ON If Temp > 77.8 then HT1 OFF If Temp < 77.2 then HT2 ON If Temp > 78.0 then HT2 OFF
  13. You should consider a full "Cleanup Crew". Check if Dr. Mac has multiple types. You can also purchase over the Internet. Blue Zoo Aquatics is an excellent option, although it's expensive. I just purchased this for a 50g and I'm really happy with it. https://www.bluezooaquatics.com/productDetail.asp?did=2&pid=1610&cid=313 9 Astraea Snails 16 Nerite Snails 16 Margarita Snails 3 Turbo Snails 20 Onyx Nassarius Snails 16 Red Leg Reef Hermit Crabs 16 Blue Leg Hermit Crabs 2 Emerald Crabs There are also other options for Cleanup Crews from them. https://www.bluezooaquatics.com/productList.asp?cid=313&did=2
  14. I could be wrong, but I believe the reason you don't see many posts for coral quarantine tanks is because most be people don't quarantine corals. Corals are usually visually inspected, cleaned, and treated immediately by dipping the coral in some type of toxic fluid that will kill everything except the coral. Sometimes it kills the coral too. Does anybody posting (or reading) this thread use (now or in the past) a quarantine tank for corals? I used quarantine tanks for fish, but not for corals.
  15. Jehmco http://www.jehmco.com/html/frozen.html Start a group buy. They have awesome prices. I'll take a block of Mysis. Don't forget the Cyclopeeze and Krill.
  16. This may not be an apples to apples comparison, but I get to share the picture.
  17. You can also have different species in the same tank. Obviously the least aggressive species would be better choices than the more aggressive ones. 30g is fairly small and would limit the number.
  18. It will likely heal in time.
  19. That doesn't sound normal. My RBTAs never do that...Are they wild caught or captive bred? Do you feed your anemones? They typically do not need to be fed separately.
  20. That is likely normal behavior, although I've only seen the male do it.
  21. It will likely last years without doing anything. There is no need to rush to repair it. I strongly advise against applying force to the glass while the tank has water in an attempt to reduce the separation. That will most likely result in 200g of water on the floor. A new tank is certainly an excellent option.
  22. My 220g was like that for years without issue, although the buyer said he noticed gaps beginning to appear in the seams. The glass walls retracted back and the separation was gone when I finally emptied the tank. That would be the best time to replace the top brace, when the tank is empty.
