therootcause November 28, 2020 Share November 28, 2020 No, this was a new video release? I didn't see that in the tutorial. I'll go check it out, thanks! Here’s the link. They’ve been doing live chats all week, taking viewers through the evolutions in reef keeping over the last 16 years. This is the one on rock. NSA is in last 30 mins (about 1hr 25min in).Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
tpallas December 1, 2020 Author Share December 1, 2020 Worked over the past week or so and ran out of cement. Have some more on my way to finish it up, but I think we're almost there. Still working the left hand side. Picture of where we're currently at:

tpallas January 19, 2021 Author Share January 19, 2021 Kept myself busy painting the interior of the stand to match the exterior, and adding furniture to match the kitchen. Took a door with me to Home Depot and had some exterior paint made to match. Before & after:

I bought a brand new Avast to use on a build that was canceled, looking to sell it for a while now.

Aquastudent January 23, 2021 Share January 23, 2021 +1 on the expresso machine. That sump looks awesome though! Good call on matching the stand to the other furniture. That'll make everything look like it belongs

tpallas January 25, 2021 Author Share January 25, 2021 Got to installing the sump. First, cleaned the skimmer. Got her about 6 years ago but cleaned up nice after a vinegar bath. Next removed the back brace from the stand to to the sump in.
tpallas January 26, 2021 Author Share January 26, 2021 Perfect fit in the stand. Currently working the plumbing, waiting on some additional parts.
tpallas January 27, 2021 Author Share January 27, 2021 Question....does anyone have any lighting setups in their stand sump area with a door open/shut switch? Researching options on Amazon for units.

therootcause January 27, 2021 Share January 27, 2021 Just saw Parker’s reef video where he explains his sump lighting. He’s using some sort of Phillips Hue Sensor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
AlanM January 27, 2021 Share January 27, 2021 This tank, sump, stand, lights, everything are such a pleasure to watch. It's so satisfying to see someone doing it right and not cutting any corners. The rock structure looks great. Lots of negative space for corals to fill.

Researching options on Amazon for units. I just installed this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07353W4V2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's motion detection. Can be battery or USB (you'll want to use usb if using motion). I have a quick video that I posted on my build thread (link below). There's a 5 second delay for turn off. I warned my wife this was going to be a long build...I think at this point we ordered the tank and stand in August, but are on track to get water running in the next week or so.
