dmatt56 July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 Hello everyone, I currently have my 72" T5 light mounted from cables on the ceiling. The cables are going on 7 years old, and I'm scared they are going to rust off and break. What other mounting options do people recommend? Should I buy a canopy and mount it to that? Anyone know of someone that can make a canopy? Thanks Matt
Rob A July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 I've done this with bent 3/4" conduit on a couple of tanks. It goes all the way to the floor in the back and is bolted to the stand in 2 places. Then you just need to decide how to attach your lights to it Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
epleeds July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 Are they rusted? I have had mine over my tank for 3+ years and they don't show any signs of ever being wet.

Rob A July 15, 2017 Share July 15, 2017 I bought the conduit at Lowe's and I have a bender at work. I'm sure you can find or borrow one within the WAMAS group. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

freshfins July 15, 2017 Share July 15, 2017 How about replacing the cables? I've seen them at Home Depot or Lowes.
WilRams July 15, 2017 Share July 15, 2017 I used T-Slot from 80/20.net but if your cables are rusted and your happy with how they are currently mounted I would just replace the cables. How I mounted mine from the back.

BowieReefer84 July 17, 2017 Share July 17, 2017 The cables can be had at bicycle shops a lot of the time. They are basically brake cables...
DaveS July 17, 2017 Share July 17, 2017 I've seen the cables at Lowe's. Right next to the chains.
