  1. Yes, but I have access to a drill press, which I think is necessary for the round pipe.
  2. Here is one of my stands. Bars on front and back screwed in at holes already in the lights. Make sure you bend the conduit to reach half way across, to the center of the tank. 1" spacer blocks needed to bolt the clips to the stand.
  3. Spray paint. I think I used Rustoleum.
  4. I use conduit hangers and attached bars between the lights to hang them together.
  5. How did the trip go? Several years ago I camped at Cinnamon Bay on St John and the snorkelling was fantastic in several locations around the island. I am longing to go back, but I don't know if they have recovered from the hurricane yet. Please let me know what you found there!
  6. There are freshwater clubs in the area: https://www.pvas.com http://gwapa.org https://www.capitalcichlids.org
  7. I like the Eheim plant tongs because they're plastic and won't rust. They're better than the other plastic tongs. I have a Julian's Thing tool that I'll probably never use. Let me know if you're interested. https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/julian-s-thing-multi-use-tool-two-little-fishies.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw_b3cBRByEiwAdG8WquQ42-AOGD2uNh1FfVh9ZtNtiHNC8zjqKOnZItgDRvwv7aDP9pb8WBoCoEkQAvD_BwE
  8. I recommend using a drill guide like this: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/glass-drill-bit-guide-thk.html
  9. They've been selling them for a long time. In the little fridge by the checkout counter. They are just labeled as pods and I had amphipods and copepods grow from that bag.
  10. I got a bag from House of Tropicals in Glen Burnie.
  11. They have digital editions, but I don't know if you can get just one.
  12. Under leds? Could be a different spectrum in a diff spot.
  13. In my experience if you resolve your excess nutrient issue the bubble algae disappears.
  14. I would attend if available. Are you looking at Maryland or Virginia?
  15. I think you mean microworms or walterworms. Whiteworms are much larger.
  16. http://aquaticlifefarm.com This is a local guy who frequents the freshwater club meetings. Highly recommended.
  17. Frank Cowherd of http://aquaticlifefarm.comsells daphnia. He is out in the boondocks, but he brings fish and live foods to meetings of PVAS (pvas.com)and CCA (capitalcichlids.org). Contact him to order. He is one of the best breeders in the dc metro area.
  18. Or the conduit can pivot outward.
  19. Also make sure the pump is not too close to the sides of the tank.
  20. How about replacing the cables? I've seen them at Home Depot or Lowes.
  21. I use a Finnex fugeray 12" that works very well.
