dmward99 April 11, 2006 April 11, 2006 I have to agree everyone is entitled to there own opinion. I don't think that wolfman was slamming BRk just voicing his concerns. To me it seemed as though everyone is coming down on wolfman for how he feels about his BRK experience.I am new here also .And I visited BRK and met Johnny this weekend.I also had a purchasing disagreement with Johnny but we cleared it up and I will still do business with him in the future. It was a nice drive and the fish I bought where healthy and are eating like crazy now.Johnny came through for me when I was looking for the fish and no one had it.Thanks Johnny the fish are doing great. David

Ah, I hope you didn't feel discouraged from expressing your opinion, or unwanted. We totally respect everything you have to say, its just that A LOT of people here really like BRK and may have taken your words a little harshly. Also, no "jk" needed, I would never step foot in Wally's again.
wolfman April 12, 2006 Author April 12, 2006 what is it with walleys, i thought that they were going to change the store and it look like they were changing things but evey thing in there is over priced like crazy, and to tell you something else you used to be able to go to roozens and get fish cheap but there prizes are getting up there for fish that have a 30% chance of living. If i was going to buy a fish it probly would have to be from the marine scene because there fish always look good.
Larry Grenier April 12, 2006 April 12, 2006 Wolfman... who do you think you are; slamming Wally's like that... Just Kidding
Caribbean Jake April 12, 2006 April 12, 2006 Wally's brought it upon themsleves. They tried to push for customers looring at WAMAS members, but in return they offer higher prices and no WAMAS support. So why should I support someone that does not support US? The bottom line.. This is Business, if you can't stand competition and support your customer, then you need to shape in or shape out. If Wally's wants my business they need to improve their customer service, there livestock selection, and be competitive with today's market, and I don't mean "cheap" prices, I mean competitive. Look at Marine Scene, there prices are higher than other LFS but they offer quality. Wally's offer higher prices but lack the quality and again the customer appreciation and service we as customers depend and expect. again, it's business, if you want mine, then run your place like a business. P.D. What do I know about business? Just ask me for my professional career vitae and you will know that I "Walk-The-Talk". On the other hand, take F&F and BRK. There prices are competitive, shure you can find the same specimen for less on line or on another MD store, but do you get the 0ne-on-one attention as a customer, the respect you deserve as a buyer, and the support you look for when purchasing a living creature knowing that it will survive when you get home and get to enjoy it for years to come if you treat it well. Their livestock is not over priced like Wally and MS, there quality is at par with WAMAS members come to expect, and most of all their customer service is A+, cause the moment you walk into John or Sean business place you feel you are appreciated as a customer, not just another dollar sign $. This has been my experience with all these LFS, it is MHO and take it for what it is worth... nothing. Thank you Sean. Thank you Byron. Thank you Johnny - for your continuing effort and dedication to your businiess, it is reflected in the way you have treated me every single time I step into your store. Thank you.

steveoutlaw April 12, 2006 April 12, 2006 Simply put......opinions are like a@%holes.......everybody has one. Wolfman is obviously fond of showing his. But just as he has the right to put his opinion about BRK up here, all the other members have the right to set him straight with their opinions. I've been in this hobby for only 1-1/2 years, but in that short time I haven't been to a better marine store than BRK. Johnny has competitive prices on most all of his stuff and if he doesn't have what you're looking for he'll get it for you. I've been to most of the other stores listed in this thread and they have zero customer service. As far as the frags go Wolfman, suck it up. It's Johnny's store and he has the right to do whatever the H-E-double hocky sticks he wants.......but when 99% of the members are very satisfied and 1 isn't......well, that speaks for itself. Keep it up Johnny.
Larry Grenier April 12, 2006 April 12, 2006 I believe that I'm speaking for many members here when I say the following. We all like BRK and understand how they do things. Most of us also don't hate Wolfman and don't want to alienate him from the group. Going to BRK or other reef shops is a little like visiting a buddy's house who says he has a bunch of stuff to sell; we don't expect him to sell everything or act like a 7-11. Wolfman, I'm still waiting to see pics and a description of your tank.
Leishman April 12, 2006 April 12, 2006 Wolfman, I'm still waiting to see pics and a description of your tank. Look here no pics, but detailed description
Eve April 12, 2006 April 12, 2006 Couldn't have said it any better Larry - and besides - Johnny seems to be perfectly capable of speaking for/defending himself and his business practices. He's not hiding behind anyones skirts. I would hate to give the impression that this club doesn't tolerate differeing opinions or give the impression that there is a "favorite" club vendor. We should be able to give our opinion about ANY vendor.
steveoutlaw April 12, 2006 April 12, 2006 I agree Eve. But when you read the first post it is more of an attack than an opinion. I would like to think that all opinions are tolerated, but there is a respectful way to voice them as well. I don't think that anybody is saying that Johnny can't stand up for himself. However, it was the members of this club that encouraged him to go into the marine business and I would hate for comments, or the way those comments are aired, to taint what BRK is trying to to and ruin a good thing.
Eve April 12, 2006 April 12, 2006 I couldn't agree with you more Steve :D - especially about the voicing opinions respectfully part. I don't think that Johnny (I keep saying his name like he's my best friend) has to worry about his reputation on this board. At every opportunity folks recommend BRK, and one negative post - more than adequately handled by the vendor himself, won't harm his rep. Can't we all just get along? :77: :D
flowerseller April 12, 2006 April 12, 2006 How 'bout those Nats? What kind of season do you think they'll have?
Larry Grenier April 12, 2006 April 12, 2006 How 'bout those Nats? What kind of season do you think they'll have? I thought it was "How bout dem Bears".
dmward99 April 12, 2006 April 12, 2006 I am kinda crossing my finger the Wizards can get healthy again.
Guest clownfish4 April 16, 2006 April 16, 2006 I thought it was "How bout dem Bears". Actually, its How bout them Expos, when are they due to lose to the Braves? :D
emissary April 16, 2006 April 16, 2006 Actually, its How bout them Expos, when are they due to lose to the Braves? :D I think it's just "how about that local sports team." Good on ya chip.
Caribbean Jake April 17, 2006 April 17, 2006 How 'bout those Nats? What kind of season do you think they'll have? Looonnngggg. I took my son to the Thursday game and Mets open the 1st ining with 4 runs (3-HR). The game went 13-4 for Mets. what a race... I mean a game.
Larry Grenier April 17, 2006 April 17, 2006 I thought it was "How bout dem Bears". Reference to the movie "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles". "Those aren't pillows"
