DCReefer1964 June 13, 2014 June 13, 2014 Well going with the best of both worlds so I decided to mod my TEK 8x45w T5 unit. Let the madness begin!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk
DCReefer1964 June 13, 2014 Author June 13, 2014 I have read on RC that the existing T-5 ballast can be wired to turn the light on in pairs vs (4) bulbs at a time. I will use this configuration until I get a pair of dimmable ballast.
DCReefer1964 June 13, 2014 Author June 13, 2014 Following along, doing something VERY similar I heard you are a pain in the butt !!! But like a little brother. LOL.
AlanM June 13, 2014 June 13, 2014 Nice, so you're just going the outer T5 bulbs with the LEDs in the middle?

ChrisTran June 13, 2014 June 13, 2014 Sweet! I have a Tek and always wanted to do something similar. Do you plan to use the fixture power cord?
YHSublime June 13, 2014 June 13, 2014 I heard you are a pain in the butt !!! But like a little brother. LOL. It's true.
DCReefer1964 June 14, 2014 Author June 14, 2014 Sweet! I have a Tek and always wanted to do something similar. Do you plan to use the fixture power cord? Yes I will use the power cords for the T5s and control them with my Apex.
DCReefer1964 June 14, 2014 Author June 14, 2014 First I had to cool things down Radion G2 template complete. All I want for father's day is finish this light. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk
DuffyGeos June 14, 2014 June 14, 2014 Yea that garage has got to get hot!!!! :smokin: And now you just need to add a MH and you will be all done! Variety is the spice of life!!
DCReefer1964 June 15, 2014 Author June 15, 2014 Got everything measured up wanted to keep as much reflector area as possible to assist with par. Debating on method to secure Radions. Taking removal and manual control if required. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk

Ryan S June 16, 2014 June 16, 2014 Why have the radions in there at all? Wouldn't it be easier/simpler to just have all T5s in the TEK unit and call it a day? And use the radions for T5 bulb money? Do the radions add anything to the T5s? I'd think the T5's would potentially drown out the radion LED output anyway?
DCReefer1964 June 16, 2014 Author June 16, 2014 Phone died will post more pics Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk
DCReefer1964 June 16, 2014 Author June 16, 2014 So is it going to be 4 T5 and the radions? You know it !!!!!
DCReefer1964 June 16, 2014 Author June 16, 2014 Let there be LIGHT! !!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk
DCReefer1964 June 17, 2014 Author June 17, 2014 No the TEK light runs cool to the touch with out a fan. I will install fans later to draw the heat from both ends. That said most people dont realize if you run T-5s too cool they never reach max PAR.
YHSublime June 17, 2014 June 17, 2014 Looks great, bud. I was about to say, let me know when you start cutting. I installed 2 5' bulbs on the outside of my 150 with the 2 G3Pros in the middle, will have to update with pics once the inlaws are gone.
AlanM June 17, 2014 June 17, 2014 I feel like this was a super fast mod. Would have taken me two months to do the same thing.
