gizmoody June 3, 2011 Author Share June 3, 2011 It looks like a mushroom with a conical stalk, so I don't think it's a slug, but I'll see if it moves. At first I thought it was bubble algae. Coral Hind June 3, 2011 Share June 3, 2011 Red Algae I agree, it is indeed a red bubble algae, it looks like Botryocladia skottsbergii. If you pop it is very slimey inside and not watery like the green versions are. I have not heard of anything controlling it naturally. Manual removal is about the only way.
