davelin315 February 25, 2008 February 25, 2008 C'mon, Rik, this one's even better - What a steal! I would have thought that you, as a somewhat reputable coral guy, would have recognized and found this deal to be worthwhile. I mean, how can you pass up a piece of "lettuce" coral that is so unique that it looks like a dead pipe organ coral and yet it still grows! And, when shipping is included, it's still only a little bit over $200!

lanman February 25, 2008 February 25, 2008 It's dead, Jim... We did everything we could. Dammit, Captain - I'm a doctor, not a bricklayer!!
vaironman February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 It's a jungle out there! What do we say to that one? "Spectacular ......... find!" scarcastically.
jamesbuf February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 That is ridiculous. Someone should report him before he takes advantage of some newbie reefer.
lancer99 February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 Hey, it's clearly alive! Can't you see the fluffy polyps? Pet shops charge $500-$1000 for this variety of Lettuce-Leaf coral because the ones that looks like slime algae growing on the side of a dead pipe organ are very rare. -R
tranceFusion February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 That is ridiculous. Someone should report him before he takes advantage of some newbie reefer. i tried the "report this listing" link but it basically said you couldn't report it unless you actually paid for the item or something?? what is up with that..
davelin315 February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 I reported it as misleading. Not right, someone may actually buy it... Hey, Bob, did you know that Captain Kirk is my cousin Willie through marriage? Let's see, he's my wife's father's cousin's uncle... gee, wonder why he never came to my wedding with our strong blood ties?
lanman February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 I reported it as misleading. Not right, someone may actually buy it... Hey, Bob, did you know that Captain Kirk is my cousin Willie through marriage? Let's see, he's my wife's father's cousin's uncle... gee, wonder why he never came to my wedding with our strong blood ties? Hey... I once worked with Hoss Cartwright's brother! Shut up, you youngsters... everyone MY age knows who Hoss is. bob
tranceFusion February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 I am emailing the seller back and forth.. he is explaining how nice it is.. Me: Hello, I was wondering what kind of coral this was? Seller: Pipeorgan which small inserts were fragged into. Thanks, Dave Me: Oh, I am confused, I thought Pipe Organs were from Indonesia, but the listing says Hawaii. But you mean you attached frags of corals from Hawaii to the pipe organ? Seller: Sorry about the mix up, this is from Indonesia. I will fix that ASAP. The frags were of another live Pipe Organ, that's how we got the bright Pink color to it. The pics by no means do justice for the peice. All kinds of people have emailed me about the coral cause it's hard to see. Thanks, Dave Me: Oh ok. So its a bunch of pipe organ frags attached to a big one? Also, do the diatoms come with it? thanks!
tranceFusion February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 Seller: I decided to end the auction because the pics were not good for the item. A lot of people complained. If you would want the item, I can sell it to you seperatly. The pieces come alive and healthy. Thanks, Dave
YBeNormal February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 Now you can report him. I think eBay frowns on people withdrawing items and then selling them offline to people who contacted the seller through eBay.
gmubeach February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 My favorite is the guy on craiglist that wants a "small" rehoming fee and then when you emial him he wants like 35 dollars for pulsing xenia and 40 dollars for kenya tree:)
lancer99 February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 (edited) I am emailing the seller back and forth.. he is explaining how nice it is.. ... Me: ... Also, do the diatoms come with it? thanks! My co-workers are wondering why I just laughed out loud. Thx for the giggle tranceFusion -R Edited February 26, 2008 by lancer99
lanman February 26, 2008 February 26, 2008 Unreal. Dead coral for that kind of $. That's amazing. Not dead... 'Undead' ... he grafted live pieces of coral into it. It lives again!!
