Connor February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 just wanted to say great job to everyone who helped to set up this meeting. Connor
dbartco February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 Thanks to James, Jean-Marie, Forrest, George (newbie even), and EVERYONE else I missed for showing up early and staying late to get everyone set up. AWESOME!
jamesbuf February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 Definitely a good time. Thanks again to all the organizers.
NRehman February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 Thanks everyone who put this together. Another successful meet.
JMsAquarium February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 Thanks everyone who put this together. Another successful meet. It was a pleasure, as always.
trble81 February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 We had a blast! How cool is this club? Big props to the frag sellers who put up additional frags for raffle. When you have more frags than people who put in for them, you know you have generous folks.
jnguyen4007 February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 I had a great time as well. I thought the guest speakers we had with their presentations were very informative and interesting. Great job for putting it together.
gastone February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 Officers, thanks for putting together another good meeting. I'm glad that I finally got to hear Scott speak after all these years. Garrett.
treesprite February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 Thanks to James, Jean-Marie, Forrest, George (newbie even), and EVERYONE else I missed for showing up early and staying late to get everyone set up. AWESOME! I have to correct - I was not there early, though had originally planned to be, but THANK YOU to everyone who was!
Boret February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 Yeah it was great!!! Thanks for putting it together! Great job! I got frags from the raffle!! So I am a very happy camper!
Highland Reefer February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 Thanks to all who made this meeting happen. This was my first meeting & even though the speakers had to be rustled up at the last minute, they were great. Glad to here that WAMAS helped to keep the DC Aquarium going. Interesting to here about the lastest updates on the Lionfish invasion into American waters. I made out like a bandit on new corals.
lanman February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 (edited) Agree - really good meeting! Lots of socializing - lots of corals available for sale - and lots of trades going on. Many thanks to the speakers for making themselves available at the last minute!! I really liked that some of the newer members were able to get frags at the raffle, and everyone was able to pick up some very reasonably priced frags from the 'vendors'. So thanks to you guys for coming out and setting up tanks!! Perhaps in a few meetings, I'll be able to join your ranks! bob Edited February 17, 2008 by lanman
zotzer February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 I'm so bummed to have missed it. Was striken with that bug that's been going around. YUCK! I thought I'd avoided it, but no such luck. I have a light here that I was supposed to bring for Doug/Dave/school tank donation. Maybe we can arrange to meet elsewhere. Just send me a PM. Tracy
lancer99 February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 (edited) Ditto to all the above. Both speakers were really interesting, but I found Scott's talk fascinating. It's funny that what used to be "culls" from clownfish breeding are now the trendiest thing! I have been slowly migrating my softies from my 40G breeder holding tank to my 75G, but after getting a little carried away at the meeting, had to do an "emergency" move of three of them, to make room for the 21 (!) frags I got at the meeting. They now take up 1/3 of the 40G: The photo doesn't really do them justice...there are some amazing colors there. All this for an average of 8 bucks a frag! That blob that looks like it's trying to eat the Gadgets Mycedium in the front row is actually some Xenia growing on the glass So again, kudos to the WAMAS officers and everyone who made the meeting possible. I'm already looking forward to the next one. -R Edited February 17, 2008 by lancer99
lancer99 February 17, 2008 February 17, 2008 (edited) Oh and I forgot to mention that I was gratified that the 15 bags or so of Chaeto, Caulerpa, GSP, Kenya tree, Pipe organ etc. that I left on the Freebie table got taken....I thought they might have to be flushed. I guess that sounds a bit self-congratulatory, but I'll do it again next time -R Edited February 17, 2008 by lancer99
treesprite February 18, 2008 February 18, 2008 those must have been gone immediately - I saw 1 kenya tree, 2 or 3 star polyps, and several baggies of chaeto there
reefhunter February 18, 2008 February 18, 2008 Yes thank you guys for the meeting. I ended up going home with 25+ frags. I sold frags, bought frags, gave away frags and traded frags... then I won frags in the raffle... I now have over 80 different corals in my tank... probably 30 of them are from this meeting and the last. I need a frag tank... I put stuff out for free also... brown digi, green plate coral, cheato, gsp and some other stuff.... it was only there for about a minute...
Mystical Lady February 18, 2008 February 18, 2008 I LOVED the meeting also..... I met so many wonderful people and the speakers were awesome.... I learned so much about the subjects and all of the raffle prizes were cool..... Jan
