jamesbuf August 22, 2007 August 22, 2007 Holy cow. Very nice. I wish that I had a tank big enough for it! That is an efflo correct? What is the full name of it?
davelin315 August 22, 2007 August 22, 2007 Hey Khanh, heard you're only about 5 minutes from my house. I'd love to come down and see that monster some time if you're willing. I was discussing it with someone who came by the house the other day and despite how much I'd love to get a frag of that, I can't imagine chopping it up and ruining that perfect formation! James, it's Acropora efflorescens, commonly known as an efflo. Khanh's is awesome from the pictures.
yauger August 22, 2007 August 22, 2007 this picture really doesnt give it justice... this center piece truly is an amazing coral to see....
lanman August 23, 2007 August 23, 2007 Khahn's tank is an experience - especially under the actinics. I think it's pretty marvelous keeping that thing undinged and undented for all this time - I know that I'm constantly hitting corals in my tank with fingers, tweezers, rocks, etc. If I owned it - there would be frags... and it wouldn't be so perfectly round. So I'm a klutz! bob
JMsAquarium August 23, 2007 August 23, 2007 ...despite how much I'd love to get a frag of that, I can't imagine chopping it up and ruining that perfect formation! I agree with you Dave. Some corals you just don't frag them. This one is a perfect example why. Khanh, It's simply beautiful. Congratulations. JM
