Hey all, I am going to be using a 4 bulb 22" 24 watt t5 fixture 96 watts total over the 20 gallon high tank. I know LED is the popular way to go but I have to use what I have at the moment . I am looking at maintaining the live rock life and some soft corals/mushrooms/ricordea and of course a few fish and inverts. Back in the 90's I used Ultraviolet resources for my bulbs (t-12 and t-8 ) but I am having trouble finding them on the net. Looking at giesemann or ATI bulbs currently and was wanting some opinions or recommendations for the mixture of the 4 bulbs, 10k-blu-actinic etc etc. THANKS! Bryan

Hey everyone, So before I set up my tank I re-calibrated my TDS and PH pen. New tank is cycled and contains 3-4 inches of Carib sea Aragonite. (SP?) I am getting 8.4- 8.7 on my pen....it fluctuates. Should it be at a solid steady number? And is this too high? Water is crystal clear. No animals yet.....just bacteria supplement. Thanks! Bryan

Well......its been about a 9 year break from saltwater but I am getting back into it. Glad I was able to remember my sign in info! I am starting up a 20 gallon nano tank. Going to start off with live rock and fish only for now. It's good to BRK is still going strong....that was my goto place for everything! I still have my 4 lamp t-5 fixture so that's going to be my light setup.(I know LED is the hot way nowadays) ** any recommendations for 20 lbs. of live rock and about 30 lbs of live sand? When I set up my first reef tank back in 94 I remember buying live rock and sand directly from an outfit in Miami.( I think). Are Reef crystals still a suitable goto for salt?

I know one thing most LFS have higher prices....rent isnt cheap.. Which leads me to the BRK business...I dont know what johnny and the guys do, but they do it well...offering quality livestock and supplies at reasonable prices..."very reasonable" prices...which helps for the gas I spend when I travel from Stafford co. to western P.W. co. Its nice to have places like this around. The "cozy clownfish " is another place that I liked also. Bryan

Sounds so very common....2 things I have come up with..... I work for Giant and our biggest threat is "WAL-MART"....... Go figure! I order the majority (90%) of my chrysler auto parts online..... where from?....An actual dodge dealer in Kansas that has internet only pricing that blows the local dealers away! Go Figure..... Agrees......been there done that when i switched to t-5's from reg flo. bulbs....let your tank adjust on its own....just follow proper husbandry techniques and relax...it will sort itself back out..

yes and no....agree and disagree....there are many prior handling procedures that make qt advisable and could certainly make it un-advisable.....
