  1. x2, I followed this advice, kept it there for 3 weeks, consistent weekly wc's, added GFO, hasn't returned in 12 months!
  2. TY, do you like your gyre? I have one on a 36"x24"x18" tank, have to dial it down to 30%!
  3. Wow, beautiful tank! In the past year have you changed up the equipment any?
  4. Over the years I've set up several 125g's and always regretted not going with a 180g.........
  5. Use it on all my tanks....won't do a wc w/out it!
  6. I spit my coffee all over my screen on this one!!!
  7. yay! now to figure out how to use the app! naw, just teasing! Raffles is on the menu already......lol
  8. Do you have to be present at the raffle? Would suck for the volunteers if you do :(
  9. I have responded, let me know if you haven't gotten my email.
  10. I gave a vinegar bath to both my skimmers back in January, it took almost 6 weeks to get back to the "sweet spot", acted like it was brand new out of box. I was not happy. I'm thinking next time, only the collection cup and pump will get the bath.
  11. Talk to Marcos over at ERC, he'll hook you up with a couple of Evergrows.
  12. londonloco.....also been using it for years for all my tanks.
  13. I have the 130 and love it to. Works great to pull out gunk, set it and forget it, easy to clean, and is very quiet. Ask Kim (smallreef) she comments every time she's over how silent my tank is.
  14. WOW, not sure how I missed this the past couple of weeks, but the tank/sump looks beautiful Isaac! Love the scape also!
  15. I have the Avast ATO on a 65g w/sump, a Tunze nano ato on a 16g IM fw and 12g Mr. Aqua fw and the bigger Tunze version on a 75g fw tank. All versions have been up and running over 18 months, all tanks have snails in them, never had a problem with any of them. I will say both Tunze models do shut off after a minute to help avoid over fills in case of failure. I did look at the smart ATO, but at the time it was pretty new, plus the price point turned me off.
  16. I have poured pure h202 straight from the bottle on zoa's many many times, left out on my bathroom counter for 10 mins or so, swooshed around in salt water before putting back in my tank and have never lost a zoa. Kills everything, including all algae and pods, but not the zoas.
  17. +1, the first pest I had to deal with was red bugs, flatworm exit didn't kill them all, and they kept coming back. Within 2 days of buying a mystery wrasse, they were all gone and I haven't seen one since, it's been well over a year.
