  1. That butterfly is spectacular!
  2. Why 4 vs. others ?
  3. 6 of the 12 spots are taken. I can take on 6 more of these small tanks
  4. i have just recently noticed that I have a ton of 1/2" material cut-offs leftover from a large job. What I can do is build a frag tank or a top-off reservoir tank. Limitations; can't be taller than 14.5" unless you go tall and skinny. Length I am limiting to 30" with a max width of 18" $65 anysize below that These tanks will not be polished but, I will round over the sharp edges. I am going to limit this to 12 units so first come first serve.
  5. I'll take the clowns and Royal Gramma. Give me a price on the 92 tank, stand, canopy only if you part that out
  6. First is my BK300 running on my rock tank and the other is a pic I like to bring out on threads like these just for fun.
  7. Yes, the extruded acrylic was a handycap...........#5 would have been better but, I don't have any of that
  8. Chip, I would politely say that #3 is not as strong as #4 and specifically referencing with cast material. There is a myriad of literature out there but, I can tell you with certainty in real world experience #4 is stronger and is so because of the fact it cures slower. #5 I believe sets up even slower but, from my recollection is geared towards extruded materials. Having said that #3 can be used with great success on smaller projects and have them hold together a long time but, it's not as strong as other Weldon's.
  9. Hey Jason, like the set up!!! a couple of things to let you know..................to put holes in the acrylic is no problem using a simple hole saw you get from home depot. I do want to caution you that since the top of the tank is made with 3/4" thick acrylic it's going to get hot and gum up a bit. To get the cleanest hole your going to need either a minium 6amp drill or if that's not available then go into it in increments and let it cool down in between. Another thing I would like to see that since you have a home made stand I would like to see the tank sit on some styrofoam so the tank can sit on that thusly any contour deviations in the wood would be compensated with the styrofoam.

Sorry guys, I just got a phone call from Yomeister66 last night and let me know.......and Duh! I just noticed it saying so at the top of the page. I still have 8 pm's to go through.............I'll lcear them out this afternoon. Sorry about that
  11. Seriously, very impressive Dan, you ready to build your 4x4x30 tank now?
  12. I have access to 3 axis and 5 axis cnc routers. When your ready just send me a sample and I will get something made.
  13. Dan, that looks great............very impressed. In the future you might find it a little more beneficial to use pvc or abs plastic. Both are a little softer and less brittle and durability is the big benefit. Though with that the machining by hand is much trickyer. If you give me a sample of what you want I can have a cnc router replicate it for a very reasonable charge. That's only if you need a few more or if others really want it. Charge may be 10 bucks a flange as I would only charge for the material. Just a thought and offer.
  14. If your speaking of the outside the best thing to use is what's called "Brilianize" Available at most plastic shops.
  15. Great John!! look forward to catching up with you then. Jeff
  16. Hope all went well John, Speedy recovery to you!
  17. Jason, the nano streams 6045's will be out the first week of January. Which probably means the second week before I get them. I have 100 on order although I have been getting shipments of 30 every 10 days. I have about 20 of the 6025's left. I can let you know when the 6045's ship. On the subject of your top-off I'd go with a Tunze Oshmolator and run that through their Kalk reactor. It's a good way to top off your evap and does a little calcium. On the subject of your tank I like what you have come up with.
  18. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With the projects I am currently working on and the frequency of folks wanting an acrylic sump made for their tanks I have come up with a rough design that I am looking to produce volume wise. As the title states there will be a 3 ft., 4 ft., 5 ft., and 6 ft. model. They will be made with white acrylic for the sides and bottom and the front being clear. I have found that over the years that the white holds up better asthetically with the salt spray/creep that occurs in our stands. Those white water lines do not show up on the white and it's far easier to see what's going on in the sump when there is a bright white background to contrast things. Certainly a fish in the sump shows up better. Anyway, the pricing is going to be available soon. The 5ft. and 6ft. models will have an optional auto top-off tank built into the sump with the appropriate fittings and float switches. There will also be a refugium that can be fitted into the 5ft. and 6ft. models that will incorporate black sides as to not have the light spill into the sump. I have also incorporated a filter sock where all water that enters the two bulkhead fittings has to go down and channel back up and down the sock. Here is a pic of a 3ft. prototype; Some of the ideas for these sumps came off of the sump that I made for pco1988. Thanks to him for giving me a blank slate to come up with this.
  19. I went by BRK yesterday and I must say I was impressed. Great looking livestock!! & John is a great guy on top of that!
  20. jamal, if you need a quote on something let me know. I am currently getting a tank set up that size for another WAMAS member. There are trade-offs with everything. If you've done any looking around you have probably figured out what the trade-offs are with acrylic vs. glass. The big thing with glass is that it is harder to scratch. However, once you do your done..........it cannot be repaired. Just take a look at the tank at Aquarium Center (the big bowfront). Glass tanks that size have substantial costs associated with moving them (due to being nearly 2x the weight) unless you can come up with a football team or have it built in place. Glass tanks due have there place though. With the acyrlic tank the new stronger magnets allow you to clean them easier with fewer passes back and forth due to their strength thusly a lesser chance of scratching. It does take some forthought when you do do the cleaning of the glass to be conscious of not scratching it. Also, with the kits that are out there for acrylic scratch repair one can easily repair the scratch without ever getting your hands wet in the process. The acrylic tank has the ability of being moved in far more easily because of the lighter weight. Also from a modification point of view it's easily drilled and machined to accomodate any custom fitment needed. I also work closely with folks here locally to get them exactly what they want. just a couple of cents added here
  21. Hey Scott, it's Jeff Haddock here.................ate out with you and the guys at Fogo De Chao Remember????? and then we went to ......................well you remember.........LOL!!!
  22. I just tried to look to see how to take one of these off. The rocks they are on are kinda large but, if you guys know how to take them off be my guest.
  23. turns out I have 3..........I did find another one.............they do nothing for me so I will sell them. I'll have to take a look at being able to get them out. I don't think it will be a problem.
  24. I was told just the other day that I have 3 of these mini's. Didn't know they were there and that they were so sought after. I really don't care about them and if they can be taken off of the rock without too much difficulty I will sell them. PM me with your contact information if you are interested. Jeff
  25. This was a very cool size tank to build. He is going to enjoy having no cross bracing and the euor-bracing. He has his system very well layed out and the whole set up will be very impressive. appreciate the business Khanh
