  1. There is nothing that needs to be done, just ride it out. Now that the water is clear, you can get accurate readings on alk and cal. I would just keep an eye on them and adjust accordingly. Check your equipment, as cal percipitaion can damage pumps, heaters (clean them, if there is white film), etc. Your tank should be fine.
  2. You also want to check cal, as alk and cal are removed during percipitation in the same ratio.
  3. They will be muddy/rust color, aka "mocha" clowns (provided you have a.occelaris)
  4. Center fixture id RapidLed, the strip in the back is StevesLeds Luxeons.
  5. Hi John, please let me know if you are able to source a.chrysogaster. Thank you.
  6. Direct flow can cause this kind of damage.
  7. Your test kit might be off. I would use/borrow hanna or take a sample to LFS.
  8. ReefCrystal is high in alk, 13 DKH I believe. Did you send your water out for tests? Measure alk again, that reading is not right, consdering your stock.
  9. Thank you for the comments, guys. Pyramids are pretty hardy, they are good eaters (mysis, nori, OVA, ground table shrimp/clams/scallops) They get along with my copperband just fine. I put all my fish through 2 rounds of prazi. Yes, still running a mix of 400W MH and LED. My frag tank has the same LED fixture as the one in the middle of the main tank. Colors and growth are all good, no complaints.
  10. There are more fish in there - mag foxface, powder blue, copperband butterfly, blueface angel, anthias - I just chose a pic without them. I would call it a medium bioload Rockwork was done with epoxy and generous help from Nick (stonecold).
  11. I have no space in the sump, unfortunately. So crusing with less rock for now.
  12. Well, the system is recovering slowly from being turned upside down. We started in the end of December, and it took us about 2 months to replace all the rock. There are still some minor cycling events taking place, but I really hope we are moving in the right direction.
  13. Sorry to hear about that, Chris. Cold months are bad to have clowns shipped, as stress of shipping often brings on brook. Here is a good link that explains brook, its cycle and treatment options. It is treatable and I even had clowns breed after treatments. http://www.chucksadd...rookynella.html
  14. Cool video, thanks for sharing. Looks like fish are thriving. Great job!
  15. I use these. Not all plugs will fit, though. LiveAquaria ones will fit, for example. That is for your own frags to grow. Frags from other sources should be really cut off the plug to minimize the danger of unwanted living creatures moving in. Cut off the frag and reglue to a new plug, if needed. http://theblueglow.com/shop/
  16. I would like to have a floating canopy built for my tank. Canopy will contain 2X400W on lumenbright shells and 2 DIY led units. I would guess the weight to be around 50lb... Is this kit the one that I want to use (Current USA sunpod)? http://www.amazon.com/Current-USA-Orbit-SunPod-Hanging/dp/B000YJ0N5Y/ref=pd_sim_sbs_petsupplies_2 Ideas about floating canopies are welcome
  17. Order start culture of tisbe or tonsa. Phycopure is good feed. They are easy. I dumped my established culture in the frag tank once I did not need pods for clown fry, they are doing quite well there without any extra feeding. mofib.org has a weath of info. http://www.seahorsesource.com/cgi-bin/shop/detail.cgi?id=201220
  18. I would do a couple of large water changes and start running GFO at 1/4 recommended dosage. You just need to tweak feedings, manual detritus removal and waterchanges once GFO brings phos down. I do not run GFO or a refugium/macro, only live rock and a skimmer on a barebottom SPS tank.
  19. Blueface angel. He is so loud! Grunts at me all the time. FTS to follow soon, not done placing corals. Their colors are a little bit off after everything that we've done to the tank, but nothing major. You are welcome to check the tank out in person I treated them with prazi, two rounds. No autofeeder for me, I prefer to give my fish frozen foods. It is blueface angel. His colors are off, as my computer monitor calibrates itself to some unknown preferences, I guess :( I cannot get the right colors out of it. I switched computers, so hopefully I wil get true colors on my next round of pics. mari lokani (sorry for blurry pic, the coral is all the way in the back of 36" deep tank) and wild carduus colony. It is transitioning to purple, I've only had it for 2 weeks Thank you for the compliments, everyone
  20. Thank you. I just looked at my pics on ipad and colors must be totally messed up on my computer monitor where i upload pics from the camera to.. Everything is off. Oh boy :(
