  1. So I guess my best bet would be the EcoTech Radion. That's what the speaker at yesterday's meeting uses too. Based on that talk, it sounds like it is "What you see is what you pay for" !! How many would you guys suggest for a 156 gallon ( L60", W24", H25 ). Should I get the single Radion with 2 lights or 2 separate single ones? Or do I need more ? Here's what my tank looks like, with LR in the middle so that fishes can do laps around the tank

  3. Actually it is probably going to be out of mine price range too if I need 2 ! Kind of why I want to know what it can / cannot do before I take up a 2nd mortgage I have a 156G. What did you end up getting ? Did your research come up with a more reasonably price LED ?
  4. I am thinking of getting the Radion XR30w Pro G2 http://ecotechmarine...on/radion-xr30w, does that have adjustable channels ? My Apex has a profile for it that kind of suggest that I can adjust the channels.
  5. When you visit a LFS, the lighting they have on their frag display is optimized to best display the colors of the frags, particularly the Zoas. So I am a little tired of buying what I think is a really cool looking colored Zoa and then bring it home and find that it does not look anything like what I saw at the LFS with my lights (LED - blue and white). It only looks that way with only the blue LEDs on, i.e. moon light. Before I spend the big bucks on a milti channel LED light with different colors, it is true that with such an LED light I can adjust the intensity of the colors to effectively change how Zoas and other corals appear in my tank ?
  6. Why do you need modules ? Can't you just use the "Profile" for the Radion, as I indicated above ? Pardon my Apex ignorance.

  9. I see this in one of the "Profiles" of the Apex where Radion is the pull down I selected. Does this suggest you can control the Radion by just changing these values then use this profile ?

  11. Anyone asked Tammy DeWitt or Mike Henley of the Zoo about this ? Who knows, maybe thru MACNA some sponsor could show up an fund a re opening of the invert exhibit at the zoo.
  12. Has anyone used the Radion XR30w Pro G2 with their Apex ? http://ecotechmarine.com/products/radion/radion-xr30w
  13. I am a Apex newbie whose LED lighting just died. All my Apex does is measure temps and PH in 2 tanks. Have yet to find the time to do more. Is there such a thing a an LED light that can be controlled by the Apex to have different times for the different LED colors, e.g. more blues at a given time, than white, etc.
  14. I am tempted to get the Orbit 20 Jellyfish Aqua -> http://www.cubicaquarium.com/orbit-20/ Has any one any experience with it or Jellyfish in a similar small tank ? I am curious how it can maintain the temp without a heater. Leave the LED on 7 x 24 ? How long do such Jellyfish live ? Over a year ?
  15. No, it white is a pic of it's belly when it turned around. Since I have not added any thing to this tank for over a year I don't think it is a hitchhiker. I did add hermits.
  16. No, it's American, it asked for $19.99 and offered to throw in a free set of steak knifes if I paid before the lights go out .... so it must be Sasquatch
  17. Wow ! No one can ID this ? That's a first ..... I'll probably never see it again anyway since it is in my 156G.
  18. Elegance is suppose to go in the extreme left tank. Mike said he designed that tank just for it. When I was there yesterday, I heard that they were having some problems with the actual move of it.
  19. Reef tanks at the Nat Zoo . Not totally ready yet but good to see marine life at the zoo again. Thanks Mike H.

  21. I just found this in my 156G. It's tiny, as you can see from the Zoa next to it. Zoa is about 5mm in diameter. What is it ? A worm or ???? Here a pic of showing the underside

  24. *1 and as a member you don't have to wait for your assigned time and line up like crazy during summer. Members have a separate entrance and you just waltz in when ever you want to. I have advised out of town friends who's time is valuable to just pay the extra for membership just to avoid the line. It goes to a good cause.
