The Elegance was the bright side of the exhibit. This before (July 2015) and after (Feb 2016) on the other hand, shows that they are not feeding the Sun coral. I think they need to be hand fed.

Color and growth talk - clean vs dirty tank
mling replied to Reefer_Madness's topic in General Discussion
I have heard that softies prefer dirty water, which is why my 100ppm tank is predominately filled with them and Zoas. I use my Kenya Tree to gauge when to change water, usually about 2 to 3 weeks. -
Why do you want to replace the hydor korallia ? I was thinking of getting them to work with my Apex as Wav pumps.
-
Thanks for all the info. Found that my RODI for the reef is working fine. Waste water did turn off after a while so the ASOV is working fine.
-
... Thanks John, I found out that mine does have an auto shut off. I guess I will have to test to see if it works correctly by leaving it on for awhile to see if to waste water stops.
-
I have been shutting the off the main water supply to my RODI unit when I am done making water, instead of depending on a float valve to stop it. I just noticed that if I just stop the RODI water from runing and leave the main water supply on, the waste water continues to run. Does your RODI unit waste water still run even after the good water making has stopped ? Is this a way for the filters to stay "fresh" ?

Apex Andriod app problem after upgrade to Note5
mling replied to mling's topic in General Discussion
I found out what my issue is. My old android had accessed fusion through the web, it was not an App; it wa a web short cut. Did that (web)and it worked fine. I had incorrectly thought I had installed the fusion App from google play. Don't know why the Fusion App would be needed since you can access it through the web on the phone. Maybe you can do more with the App. -
I have been successfully accessing my Apex using Fusion on my Android for over a year. I just upgraded my android to a Galaxy Note 5, running Android 5.1.1. My fusion no longer works as I am having trouble adding my Apex to it. After entering my login details, it just goes to a "Please wait ...Login Setup..." pop up and then reverts back to the login in screen with nothing new. I have even tried uninstalling the App and reinstalling. I am using all the defaults, just entering username login as I do on a PC. I have no issues using my same username / password on fusion thru the web. Any suggestions appreciated

Wondering if anyone else is having this Apex problem. My Apex has been up and running, connected to Fusion, for close to a year. Recently, in the last month, I have had about 5 times when it would warn me by email that is had lost power, always restored in under 1 minute. I attributed this to a trip in my house power. But then I noticed that my 'old fashioned" LED alarm clocks that would always in flashing when ever there is a power interruption, has not done so. This suggest that while my Apex may have been disconnected to Fusion, it was not due to a power issue with the house. It looks like it lost internet connection and Fusion assumed it was a power lost. I am pretty sure it is just the internet connection since all other Apex functions do not seem to be affected. Correct ? Has anyone else experienced it ? Recently, I discovered that my Apex had lost internet connection and was not recovered until I power cycle it. My have FIOS and my Apex version is 4.32_7A14. My Apex is not wireless; it is directed connected to my router. Fusion has suggested that I update it to 4.40_F15. Does anyone know where to find the changes from 4.32_7A14 to 4.40_F15 ? Would be good to know if this issue is know and is fixed in the latest update. Being in the IT field, I hate to update blindly to the current and greatest without know what this changes are. Thanks for any input.

After 40 years, god knows what you find in a large tank

So where do you try to keep your Nitrates and Phospates?
mling replied to Reefer_Madness's topic in General Discussion
I am also more about the fish than the corals. Do we have stats for Nirates and phosphates for primary Fish but not FOWLR tanks ? My fishes are fine in my system where Nitrates are under 100ppm. Oldest fish is 11 years old. -

Let me horrify you all... 90 to 100 ppm ! Even water changes of 30 gallons every other week fail to bring it down. As mentioned by others .... no SPS but softies and zoas are thriving... -
We all know about Dr Mac. Has anyone been to or know anything about Joe's Aquatics in Seaford Delaware ? https://www.facebook.com/Joes-Aquatics-850798678263872/timeline/ Wondering if it is worth checking out when I am in the area.
