  1. NICE PICS! FYI You have a severe flatworm problem that needs to be addressed
  2. IMO clip on fans work better as far as airflow and are cheaper than most computer fans. I use a vortex fan and it was $10 and blows a good amount of air out.
  3. I have one you haven't given me yet 11/02/08
  4. I appreciate all the offers and will be contacting people shortly
  5. Anything could be possible but I thought it was funny how the only change that I knew of was a chemical change in the water and bad filters I was running. I could be totally wrong. The ph dip didnt make matters any better as well. I added a filter media that absorbs heavy metals and was supposed to turn black if they were present but it never changed color
  6. What makes me think that? Well all my parameters were right on and the only thing that changed was the switch from chlorine to chloramine and my filters were very old. I find out they changed this almost one week before my problems started
  7. changing my filters like i should of been
  8. Chloramine is Chlorine bonded to ammonia. My water company switched from Chlorine to Chloramine and i had old filters on my DI. Carbon will absorb Chloramine but passes ammonia. DI picks up ammonia but only if the DI resin is still good. Chloramine will throw off ammonia test kits so i tested for everything and it looked like everything was on target but really ammonia was present therefore killing most of my SPS and some fish. It was that and a combo of a low PH/High ph spike. Corals were unhealth at the point to no return. It sucks but it was a lesson learned at i high price. I want to take it slow with a few frags to make sure the tank is truely ready and move on rebuilding my tank. Rik when i am 110% confident that my tank is ready i will PM you.
  9. Ok after all is said and done I lost more than 90% of what was in my tank due to a tank crash back in July. I have taken it slowly to correct the problem (Chloramine) and believe my tank is ready to go once again. I lost a couple fish and my beloved RBTA as well. I am trying to see if anyone out there has some frags that they got from me. Let me know what you have and how much you want for it. I appreciate your help in advance
  10. I use small bag filled almost full because if the box is turned on the side and the frag gets hung up on the bag it could be exposed to air for awhile and kill the frag. I use a cooler and newspaper to make sure the bags dont move around. Then I tap the cooler shut. Also make sure i mark each bag as to what the frag is. USPS Express is overnight to alot of areas and its the cheapest.
  11. When i had my nano i never had a skimmer and just did water changes
  12. I have a package of them
  13. I believe all my pictures are under Xm 10k or 20k bulbs. My tank colored up really well with the 20k and i still got a ton of growth. I noticed that the 20k radiums where 5x brighter than the XM 20k's. I run a ASM G4x but have since had a tank crash and havent been able to get things back in order. Still not sure what my issues are but i believe its something with the city water
  14. I am running Radiums on an Ice Cap 250W electronic ballast and love it!
  15. The XM 20k has higher par ratings than the 15k. I love radiums which have a higher par rating than any 20k bulb and most 15k bulbs as well. To me they look more like a 15k bulb than a 20k
  16. You will be fine. Just make sure the PH and Temp look good
  17. My dad told me that they took him out in the open water when he went but that was awhile ago. I have to find the place that brings us out farther. Im going to get a mask and fins to bring with me as well. Where is this wall?
  18. They told me at most 4 weeks. $100 each what a rip off!
  19. November 15th I will be going on my belated honeymoon! Anyone ever been to the Adventura Palace before? Snorking is included and unlimited! I have never seen clear water let alone gone on a vacation out of the States. Going to get the passport on Sat am! Anyone have recommendations on what to do there?
  20. Luminarcs give a good 24x24 spread with 12 inches on each side of lower light for LPS and some SPS. I have 2 Luminarc minis over a 36x24 tank and love them
  21. IMO they are zoas that need more light so they are stretching themselves
  22. Mine is just like that and its never been a issue. The only problem with putting the drain under water is sometimes mine burps air bubbles
  23. I'm going to have to say your going to have problems with the fish you already have let alone putting another one in there
  24. never had them but heard from others that had the same problem. They just seem to fade away
  25. Dosing pump would help keep it constant
