Come downstairs this AM as I am about to run out the door for work and i hear my pumps humming. Go to see whats wrong and it seems my Refug had overflowed about 25g of water on the floor (most went down the drain) and i didnt have but 5g of makeup water ready. Had to take apart my main pump and cool it down to get it running again (auto cut off when it gets too hot) and drain the refug in the sump to get things going again (minus the skimmer and refug). At the same time my top off ran for 10min and put out a little to much kalk water in my sump (float switch stayed open because of water level-lucking i have it set on a timer as well for 10min in case this ever happened) and i didnt realize it (checked the salinty and it was down .001 and didnt look cloudy) Turned the main pump on and the tank got alittle cloudy. PH was sitting at 8.4 when i left. Man this isnt helping me get back on track. Good thing temp was ok. The reef tank Gods arent looking over me. I'm ready to call it quits!!!!!!!!

I ask if its the opne with the foam and rock because you said your tanks are plumbed together and one is having the issue but the other is not. Hate to say it but the foam might be whats causing it. I would check Phosphates and start manually removing the hair algae followed by a overloaded cleaner crew and some lawnmower blennies.

Is that the same tank with the rock and foam wall?

Were did you purchase this? Did you ask them any questions about it? What did they say?

personally like the dimensions of the 300g but the price is right for the 220g. Im not a fan of a 30" deep tank and like the 30" width the 300g gives you

Thanks Lee its good to see you still check the boards. You should see that toadstool you gave me about a year or more ago. Its a monster! I dont know if i had a heat issue when i wasnt home but it never gets past 81 and if it does the lights are programed to go off. I verified the controller temp with a glass thermometer and its right on. Stuff is still STNing on a few peices. I have been feeding Cyclopeeze everynight to see if it helps

ok 3 weeks after trying to fix a low PH problem that started bleaching and it still hasnt stopped. Had a kalk overdose and then a week or two of low PH during my wedding. Cut back lights because i thought the bulbs i got two months ago finally burned in and changed out my carbon around the time of bleaching event. Seems that no matter what i do now all my corals are showing bleaching. Acans dont look good either. I started dosing 2 part to try to get things balanced but besides the low PH at the start of the bleaching event my other parameter were on target for the most part. PH has been in the 7.9-8.1 range for the past three weeks. I have done 2x15g , and one 25g water changes over a two week period. Im lost right now, in my 3 years in this hobby i have never seen something like this that seems so uncontrolable and unable to explain. Am i missing something???????????I have lost quite a few colonies and alot of most of my corals. I'm ready to throw the towel in Salinty 1.024 (little low) Mag (was little low can remember what it was) PO <.03 ALK 8 ish dkh CA 360-380 PH 7.9-8.1 Nitrate 0 Ammonia 0

dont add anything to the tank just back off the Kalk reactor and let everything settle to normal. Should be ok but i have lost some things in the past but usually not a whole lot.

the only way to trim it is to cut whole heads off of it. Clowns will be ok

They actually are blaming it on a hurricane that smashed a fish tank with 6 of them in it (hard to believe but hey) and led them into the ocean from the flooding. They said the current carried the eggs to other area which is now what were are seeing. I read the same article on MSN which is more detailed

Man things keep STNing on me and i dont know whats going on. Calibrated PH probe and PH is sitting around 8.0-8.1. Today Alk is 10.8. Did a 40g water change today. No one have idea what could be going on?

believe Mag was 1260 or something close to that. I agree 10 % is not alot. Tank is 75g+40g+10g+29g=154g
