  1. I'm sure that the red sea instruction manual is listed on their website.
  2. I also have a inline TDS meter. Ive tested the hand held meters and they work. I haven't changed any of the filters in 2 years. But I only use about 100 gallons a month. I just was told by AWI to change out filters every year, but I didnt see any reason to because my water was still very good. You can see my filters, they still look as clean as the day I bought them 2 years ago?
  3. I have an AWI RODI unit (150 Per Day) and I have not changed the filters in over 2 years, but both of my handheld TDS meters read 2 PPM. Should I change filters because of age, is there any side effects of leaving them in to long?
  4. good job, nice set up. Make another video later showing SPS growth.
  5. I only have one of these and don't know to much about these. I've only had the piece for 3-4 months. I originally had it high and it seemed to not like it. I moved it down to bottom and now the eyes seem to be popping up everywhere. It originally had 9 yellow eyes, now it has 24 eyes. Is that a good sign?
  6. Every tank is different. I have a Tunze 9002, but it requires an exact water level to work right. It does a great job skimming though with a ATO. I highly recommend you get a Avast ATO. It is very important to have on any salt water set up. If I was going to use a hang on the back skimmer I would look at the Remora. I think Reef Octopus has a nice type also, but not sure if skimmer rating is for larger tanks. I have heard good things about the aqualife skimmer, but it cant be nearly as good as the tunze or remore. I also think Hydor has a new nano skimmer that is worth looking into.
  7. Not sure why you need to use saw unless you plan on attaching peices to back wall. If you don't need them to be prefectly flat I would break with chisel and hammer. If using saw, just make sure teeth are big and sharp enough to saw into rock easily. You can also buy 1 inch drill bits cheap at home depot or ace hardware. If your rods are not thick enough and the rocks are heavy, the structure will give and bend.
  8. the rod you use depends on how big the structure is. If you where going to build a 2 foot piece I would use a 1" think rod. I also used nylon threaded rods. I got them from grainger online. Also used washers and nuts to lock into place. Really simple. Make sure you have a nice drill bit take your time when drilling rock. The rock on BRS is great for this, the tonga is very easy to work with. No need to putty, if its locked into place its not going anywhere.
  9. Is this wired through a controller? I have both types (one controlled through APEX and one a standard base) of Avast ATO's and never had an issue. Your return pump could also be to large? I use an aqualifter, this could be a pump issue?
  10. OK, Thanks I will try out microcenter. Havent been there in a while.
  11. I need to run this cable from my display tank (EB8 & EB4) to my frag tank (EB8). The only problem is I need about 20 feet and they only sell this in 15 feet. I like to use Neptune products but is this a standard cord that I could use at a computer store?
  12. I have a similar tank. You will want to add more blue. The white is very powerful. I have 10 white and 23 blue on my cube. You could do 8 white and 16 blue? You will like the Rapid LED's. You are more than welcome to look at my tank if you want. It has been running for over a year on LED's. I have 24 XP-E LED's accented with 9 XR-E regular blue LED's.
  13. This fits right into chamber 3 of the Biocube 29, You can also adjust and move it down and up as needed as it barely slides behind the return line. This is a nice upgrade over the older AVAST ATO magnet mount model. I just wish it was a bit smaller. Can't complain as it holds my PH probe, Sensor and water line secure. I love keeping stuff nice and neat. Thanks AVAST!
  14. I was drawn to thoose. As soon as I saw them I had to get. BRK had tons of nice zoas.
  15. I got the raptors. They are insane. I will post pick later. Also got some emeralds on fire zoas. Thanks BRK!!!
  16. I use a Tom's aqualifter. No prefilter. The aqualifter is more forgivable if you leave it on to long or something breaks, you might get home in time before you have a flood.
  17. I dose vodka, dextrose and vinegar and I have never dealt with Phos issues. I would think that if you get control of Nitrates, Nitrites and Ammonia that your Phos should be low.
  18. I'm thinking about getting one of these and all that I have read online is lots of pros and cons. I have lots of critters and would like to mainly get one of these to get rid of bristle worms. There are several different types of Banded Coral Shrimp. Is there a less aggresive more reef safe type? I've never had one and would appreciate any feed back.
  19. I have been reading about this and saw on BRS. This is after I placed an order. Is this sold anywhere locally?
  20. I really hate bristle worms. Hate them
