Don’t judge me. Bought this at Petco out of all places. Was a bit taken back they had this. Has about 20 polyps. Any idea as to what this is. Anyone have a name for this? Thought it was a good find.

I think I’ll just have to deal with. It amazes me that a tank with glass as thick as this has a water line that’s basically impossible to remove. Salt can do wonders.

Thanks for comments. I tried razor blade. And tank is really clean now. I’m surprised the water line won’t go away. Im sure once water is in the tank you won’t notice much.

Anyone know how to remove a hard water line on an older tank? Glass I have is in great shape but I can’t remove the hard water stain. I tried vinegar and citric acid. Didn’t do much. Was thinking about applying Muriatic acid. Any help would be appreciated.

Any one use Syn-Biotic Sea Salt Mix. I was thinking about using this salt to start new tank and then possibly moving back to TM reef salt mix. Wondering if the Biotic mix is worth it.

Is there anyone that can reseal a rimless tank and make it look unaltered? I’ve never resealed a tank before and want it to be clean.

Just wanted to share. Ran into a reef store in the Wilmington NC. The shop owner had all tanks covered with Viparspectra LED lights. Had about 20 of them and said he hasn’t replaced a single one in years. Corals looked healthy and had great color, LPS and SPS. I just thought that was unique. He did say all the big name brands are all hype and you really are just paying more. Interesting to hear and see this from a store owner.

Anyone have drill bit I can borrow for drilling brute trash cans, for 3/4 size bulk head and online suggest the drill bit be 1.5 (38mm). Could also use a 2 inch or plus whole saw for wood. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is great info! I am amazed in how the market has changed since LED’s came out. I think I will try the Nicrew lights with a 48 inch supplemented blue LED light strip to reduce shadow. I also have had Radions in the past. 2nd generation. Nice lights but honestly not worth the money. If you have made light fixtures before and are handy you will find out it’s not rocket science.

Anyone use the Nicrew 150w LED’s? I do believe the LED prices for something like ecotech Radion is way to much as I have built LED’s in the past. I feel like these guys making and selling lights are like used cars salesman and laughing all the way to the bank. But in saying that the Radions seem to be the best, so people are willing to pay for that. I’m doing a build out for a Redsea G2 425 and came across the Nicrew 150’s. I will have a mixed reef with plenty of SPS in time. Just wanted to know if anyone has tried these and if you are not using Radions what you feel is the best light for good PAR.

I have always like this brand but never seen the Vectra pumps. I have a reeflink and ecotech lights. Are these pumps worth the money? Just wanted to ask people opinions on these internal sump pumps.

Didn't know if anyone could help me with this. I already called and talked to air, water and ice and they could not do anything other than recommend I talk to a plumber. The issue I have is fairly simple.....but I don't want to mess with a main water exit line. I just moved and I want to hook up an RODI unit downstairs where there will be room for water storage and aquarium supplies. The problem is there is no place for the water exit line. No drain, no nothin. Completely enclosed other than the main water/sewage exit line. So what I want to do is add the RODI water exit line to the main water exit line of the house. Air, Water and Ice doesnt have a saddle valve big enough for this. Anyone have a solution or know much about plumbing? Before this was in my laundry room. was so simple. It's little things like this that drive me nuts.

switching from iphone 4 to either galaxy s 4 or htc one tomorrow. wanted to know if anyone has or prefers one over other and see if anyone has used with apex. i have read great things about both, but want the one that best fits my apex.

I guess everyone loses something in a move. I had several buckets with power heads and heaters. One heater got way to hot. Almost cooked everything. Lost nice colony of raspberry lemonade and an Aussie invader. Everything else at the moment seems ok. The worst part is the smell. I guess it could have been worse. I just hate losing something I have grown out. Really sucks.

Just read this. Blows me away. Don't see how Vortech and Tunze can compete with this. I have always wondered why in the world Voretch cost so much. The product is way over priced. I have a few tanks in storage with scratches. I wanted to try and fix and wanted to know if anyone has dealt with this before. Can major scratches be repaired easily or does this need to be done profesiionally? Never attempted this before any information would be apprecaited.

So I'm up this morning catching up on emails at computer. I hear this strange noise "clack, clack" from aquarium. It was odd but seemed to be running fine. All of the sudden the water level drops. I just watched my main pump die. Ran it through a series of test and the thing was just dead. My old pump had been running for over 3 years, so I guess it was its time. And what makes this even funnier is I'm moving and almost all of my aquarium supplies is in storage. Well I had a backup MJ 1200 laying around for water changes. If thats not luck I don't know what is. I do have a few SPS that stick out of the water when water goes down. Would have sucked if I was at work or had to go find a pump at 6 AM. Hopefully my luck spreads on to another WAMAS member.

I wanted to see what everyone thought about this new app. I have an iphone and have grown tired of it, I want a bigger better smart phone and the only reason I have kept the iphone is because the neptune app is great. So if this new Droid app is the same or works easily I will upgrade in near future. Seriously though the Samsung Galaxy 4 and the HTS One are iphone killers. You cant even compare.
