  1. Hey Frank Does that fixture offer still stand? I will need one for the move....
  2. I love this club! When my EB8 bar went out, Xabo lent me one for several weeks while I figured out what I was doing. He was super generous, and it saved me having to rush into anything. I greatly appreciated it, and it just highlights why WAMAS is awesome!
  3. It's finally happening! The move I've been anticipating since July is soon upon me. I'm moving from DC to Norfolk, VA, and I have to be out of the apartment by 8 Feb. Once in Norfolk, I may settle somewhere permanently or for only 6 months. It depends on how house hunting goes (I am buying, which is also scary). I've also been absent from here, because buying new frags/fish is just too tempting! I'm going to need to rehome all of my corals, because it just doesn't make sense to move them. I'm going to give them away with caveats of fragging them back to me (probably under SWAP). I don't have the time to go through and do an actual sale thread listing stuff, with a few exceptions. I'll post a thread for that a little bit later, but it will probably be a p/up date of 23 & 24 January. I need to have the tank disassembled for the movers by 5 February. I'm moving most of my fish down with me. My plan is to use a Rubbermaid tank for the interim while I get settled and get the big tank set up. How do you connect a skimmer with a Rubbermaid? Section off an area, or run the skimmer external and create a PVC maze to get the water back? Any other advice I need?
  4. Let me know if it works. I could use the same!
  5. Great meeting and great talk by Copps! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  6. I love these tangs!!!! If only I had a tank big enough. What a nice guy, Marcos!
  7. Yeah, that was my reference to his bad experience.....
  8. Never mind. I found this awesome Reeftronics website that does the calculations and writes the code based on your inputs. It's awesome! http://www.reeftronics.net/adpg/dosingcalc.php/

  10. So I'm setting up my BRS doser, which doses 1.1ml per minute. Let's assume that I want to dose 41.25 ml of 2 part alk solution. 41.25ml / 1.1ml/min = 37.5 (rounded) minutes that the doser should be on throughout the day. I was thinking of breaking it up into 3 separate dosing periods during the lights-on period. 37.5/3 = 12.5 roughly each time. I'd want it off 9:30pm until 4:30pm the next day while the lights are off. Then it would be on from 4:30-5:30, from 6:30-7:30, and 8:30-9:30 with an OSC statement controlling during that time. Would this apex programming work? And is there an easier/better way?

That's super exciting Phil! Congrats on the install!
  12. You had a bad experience with a hawk fish???? This is going to be plumbed to your main tank, right? I think you could start doing mandarins sooner than 1-2 years. I've got an insane pod collection going in my tank, and I'm pretty sure there might even be some baby shrimp-like things in there, after 1 year. My mandarin is fat and happy. I've added pods 2x to the tank, and I keep macro algae and 2 sponges in the sump. Some wise MACNA/WAMAS people told me every couple of months to take the sponge and shake it in the main tank to replenish pods.
  13. I've got one in my room.... helps me sleep! I think you should keep it Isaac!
  14. Very nice, Ben! This is going to look great soon enough!
  15. Such problems you have, Ben! Save me a frag when I move to the new place!

Phil Do you have a pic of the 60g cube?
  17. Yep. I liked his stuff! I used to be in the Keys all the time doing dolphin rescue work, so he was a really close vendor to get things from. At one point, I discussed going out collecting with him because I was interested in how fish were collected. I caught a few blennies myself, but.....
  18. Wait, is this DiversTom down in Key Largo? If so, I used to visit his facility and buy from him when I lived down there. His stuff is all caught in the Keys and always seem healthy. But none of his stuff will be eating pellets or prefab food, and may or may not be eating frozen.
  19. LOL. I see why you love it so much. The nems are beautiful! And where do I go to find a picture of the second bulldog?
  20. Ohhhhhh! This was so tempting at MACNA!
  21. Ahhh. This is the one you were telling me about. I love it! Once I get settled in Norfolk in January, I want one too! They actually have an office turtle, so I'm excited that they encourage office pets!
