  1. Ohhh....Phil, if I wasn't moving soon, and thus forbidden from buying anything other than reusable equipment, I'd be all over this! Beautiful stuff!!!!
  2. Ben I can't wait to see what you're going to end up with. I recommend some pajama cardinals, which coincidently, I can sell to you.... Seriously though.... what's the plan? Sand, or barebottom? Mostly SPS or mixed reef? What fish do you have in your other tank right now? What fish have you been dying to get?
  3. Did Isaac just recommend not eating anything you frag? Ummmm.....
  4. So I'm probably not moving until January now, so plenty of time to try to find a townhouse where I can keep my 120. I'll still probably sell a lot of the livestock, and give the rest to friends to hold.
  5. OK....so looks like I'm selling the tank I just set up a year ago. Sigh, tear. I'll start a sale thread..... I am taking the 40g tank with me, so a few things will be able to go in there, but it isn't really a reef tank. Anyone volunteering to hold a few things? So any suggestions on a good tank size for an apartment? 60g? Let's say that I get someone to hold everything for me until I get down there and get something set up, and let's assume a 60g tank with a 20g sump. I don't think I could keep my sailfin tang and my foxface. They're both about 4-5inches long, and I'm thinking a 60g won't cut it for them. Thoughts?
  6. Hi all So I found out I got a job in Norfolk at the Navy base, and it looks like I'll be moving soon. I'm still waiting on HR to provide me a timeline, so it could be anywhere from the next 4 weeks to 8 weeks. I've been looking at Norfolk apartments online, and most of them seem to be older, and I may not be able to get a bottom floor. I haven't found any with concrete in between floors like mine here in DC. Do I need to be concerned with moving a 120g tank (40g sump) into an apartment building? I'm sure the answer is yes. What sort of things do I need to look for? Load-bearing walls? Suggestions? Once I know more about where I'm going, whether taking the whole tank is feasible, etc., I'll certainly be asking for any tubs I can borrow. I'll probably be back up in DC once a month or so, and I'll certainly still come to meetings. Good news...you guys can come down and visit me at the Beach!
  7. And lyretail males can be aggressive. My male killed the two females within a couple days just pestering them to death. Sunbursts are beabeautiful!
  8. I agree with Alan. I want a video tour of Copp's tank...... And we should probably bring balloon animals for his kids.
  9. You're going to love it! The comprehensive manual is great, as is the Neptune forum.
  10. Great booth! I loved everything and the livestock was beautiful
  11. Scott Can you explain Defer and Min Time? I'm having trouble understanding the differences and the fine points of use.
  12. MACNA was wonderful. Tom, I thought your speech and dedication to your family was touching. Copps....I hope your daughter isn't scared for life by the threat of balloon baby violence. Everyone did a wonderful job!
  13. Could we start a separate area just for programming codes? This way people can post their codes along with a description?
  14. John, I've got a good feed virtual outlet. My work computer doesn't let me paste into these boxes, so I'll cc everything when I get home. Basically, the virtual outlet is very simple, just an if TIME then ON command. Then for my actual things like return pump, etc, if the virtual outlet is on, they turn off. If v-feed = on then off. Something like that. Scott, I haven't tried updating profiles. I'm going to have to play with that a bit.

  16. I picked up this one from WWC. Not sure what it is, and they didn't either. It's beautiful in person. The center up growth is a purple blue, and the base is a bright green growth. The polyps are more slightly yellow than the skeleton. I also picked up some fish. I got a orchid and splendid dottyback from Sea and Reef (well, their retailer). A neon wrasse from Reef Creations. And some anthias from QR.
  17. Put me down for a red female! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  18. Hi all I'm so sorry for my absence. Things have been very stressful in my professional and personal life. I also feel ashamed and embarrassed for how I let WAMAS down with MACNA as a result of these stresses. I hope everyone knows I had the best intentions and wish things weren't so crazy. I was really excited about the opportunity, which just makes the failure that much more harsh. And lately, I just look at my tank and feel overwhelmed. I've just slacked off because of stress and time, and the tank has definitely suffered. I've lost corals, although some are thriving right now, and one fish. My mandarin is fat and happy, which is a good sign at least. I might be moving back to Florida or down to Norfolk for work/personal issues. I was hoping to know for certain by now, but I still don't. I don't know if I'll be able to have the tank in our new place, depending on the structural set up. Despite knowing this, Kevin is buying me fish at MACNA for our anniversary; I only hope that I can keep them, otherwise it's so wasteful. I've been battling issues in the tank, like those white nudibranchs, despite having added nothing in the tank in forever. They now appear to be gone and my montis are slowly coming back. I also had aptasia, which again, is strange since I haven't added anything. I finally got Aptasia-X and they appear to be gone. My ATO tank burst again, drowning my carpet with 3 gallons of water. I'll have to look for a different one at MACNA. Those Slimline tanks just don't seem to hold up. Because the ATO's been off (I kept refilling a few times before I realized what was happening), my kalk hasn't been getting added to the tank, so my levels have been off. Oh, and red slime algae, so I've increased my vinegar input into the tank. My Neptune Autofeeder seems to be having issues with condensation, and it keeps getting clogged by moist food. So I'm pretty sure my one fish died b/c it starved before I realized what was going on. Everyone else is looking healthy, although not fat. And, if anyone has a 48" bulb fixture I can borrow/buy, I'd greatly appreciate it. I had one from a member, but he's starting another tank and needs it back. I'm hesitating on spending too much on any fixture until I know if I can even keep the tank. Thank you all, and sorry for everything.
  19. If you decide to part out, let me know. I might be interested in the mandarins. Just PM me if you decide to go that route.
  20. Did you get what you needed? If not, I have some extra white egg crate
  21. Haywood, you always know someone....
  22. Just got one from Marco at ERC. He's beautiful!
  23. So I've been using a slimline water container as my ato container. It's a little awkward but I had a narrow space in my stand for it which this fit. I've been out of town for the last week. I new it would be empty. So I started making some ro water in my bucket. I go to pour it into the ato container, almost fill it, and suddenly there's water everywhere! The ato container had split down the side and dumped nearly 2 gallons of water into my carpeting and under my stand. [emoji24] Now debating on what to replace it with. ...
