  1. Magical bottle of dettoll found at any halal food place. Cures everything. Use it for any cuts I get on corals and rocks while kitesurfing. Amazing.
  2. ive got a very healthy metallic green carpet thats now a foot plus wide and the brigtest thing in my tank. how much 65 bucks. how much at a reef store 450+ quoted. Couple other pieces from them... they have great 10$ deal on colored anemones that are hardy. I see one or two fish dead at every place.
  3. um dont most systems have flatworms in them... i used to have some earlier on but none for a while.
  4. Funny u ask. Was just readjusting my pumps last night. Gyre is doing good. Maybe 10% loss of power since day one with no cleaning. Run it opposite to my drains with two jaebos 40 in wave mode. It's been difficult to find the right flow for lps heavy tank. My sps/chalice love it. Functiionaly it's good , for me so so.
  5. yes thank you, drains are not pressurized.. returns are obviously
  6. All post above considered my thought is flex tubing on anything less then 800g and pvc above 1k g. Returns are not pressurized so they can be flex to cut down on noise and ease of maintenance
  7. Found the perfect size tank to put next to my existing 240 reef. Think I'll start by using it as a water mixer , then into a clown tank and then finally a nice seahorses tank with new canopy all around. Gotta drill my first outlet holes and then figure out the best plumbing with my existing setup to shutoff and still run the reef. Got my drill and bit ready. Let's see what happens next....
  8. I think mine got my blue damsels. But he is aggressive. Although very pretty. Doubled in size over last year.
  9. Do the same thing they do for grow setups (plants) run the fan through a contained enclosure for the lights. That way more air gets to them. Keeping them cooler.
  10. King of corals. 20% this weekend. They also can get you any variety.
  11. Picked up a ultra meat coral and scoly with the largest plate coral I've ever seen. No red. Goniapora unfortunetly
  12. got couple hours free from the wife and kid and thougth id head out to window shop for some coral. See anything nice at either exotic reef creations, kind of corals, petland or etc.. Wish all my fish stores were a little closer by. private sales work too.
  13. Just set up my mini nursery . This is a great post. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Saw this post and made a quick visit and came home with some Picasso clown mated pair they had for years. Doing great in my makeshift nursery. Thanks!
  15. +1 on multiple smaller heaters. I came home once and found my tank at 92 degrees. Now I have an apex and 2 heaters.<br/> Apex with two heaters is best option. Plus have digital temp guard as secondary measurement.
  16. Great thanks for the feedback. The lights r stronger then expected. The evergrow t5 is great medium budget setup for sure.
  17. Couple question about the evergrows r you still running at 28% strength and how high is the light from the water. Par reading is with no water movement right? Seems like a lot for 28%.. wondering how much i need to acclimate coming from the kessils at 100% 100%. thanks., the lights look good especially with t5 combo.
  18. P s the stats for drywall anchors are verticle weight against the wall. Lateral weight increases by about 1.5x with each inch away from the wall. So 10ibsx 10inches is 150ibs per inch on the anchor. +-
  19. Defntly would not use any type of anchor to the drywall. Bolt wood board to the studs and then metal l brace 10x in the center. Might be overkill but its one thing less to worry about. I have two 2080 (42ibs) supported this way.
